JJ Is Right About One Thing

Postby Statler » Sat Oct 17, 2009 11:50 pm

After Listening to the

"At least we are vastly improved"

or

"It was an enjoyable game"

SMU DOES have a loser mentality...That loss was absolutely unacceptable...

truth is we flushed a bowl game down the toilet tonight most likely. JJ can rationalize all he wants publicly, but you gotta get over the hump when given a chance on a silver platter. Navy was beatable tonight, we had enough weapons. and one that self destructs.

Like many games all year..... we fade in the second half and let them back in the game. This is just like the Washington St. game.

To me, it looked like Dobbs changed the option attack. By establishing the fullback, that really softened us up. That made it easier for him to keep or pitch. Plus, when you have far better field position to run that offense in the second half -- and they did -- that makes a difference too.

So since it is an unacceptable loss what do you suggest doing about it other than moving on to the next game and try to win it?

JJ said in the postgame that this is the type of game you must win at home.

It just sucks as a fan to see another loss like this. We finally get a team with smaller, slower athletes and we let them run it down our throats.

You have to give their coaches credit. They made the proper adjustments at half and SMU had trouble stopping them.

I knew in all honesty we were going to lose when we lost the coin flip.

Pretty sure we weren't favored

I don't care that we weren't favored. We weren't favored last week vs. ECU.

My point is that we clearly had bigger, faster athletes and we lost.

Such a good point as I felt the same way that their coaches made the right choices at the start of the second half and we lost all of our momentum......offensively and defensively....

So did Ohio State, and Navy damn-near beat the Buckeyes, too. That's a damn good team that snuck out of Dallas with a hard-fought win.

this is the kind of game you have to win at home; I was hoping we would go 6-0 at Ford this year, but this loss make every remaining home game a MUST WIN and I think we have to find a way to win one of the remaining road games to wrap up a bowl bid

this team has improved, but still hasn't learned how to put teams away
