Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...46 % completion . 200 yards. wow. I thought we were in our second year of running the JJ run and shoot? In two weeks he has thrown for 466 yards. Even teams running conventional offenses consistently have that many passing yards in just one game! No he is not the answer. We had like 30 rushes in that game. At the end of the half we had almost as many rush yards as passing yards! Not a June Jones offense. And the reason. We don't have the QB to run it. No picks though. Give him props for that. But he will not start the entire year next year.
Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...I guess having been a Hawaii fan for a long time I am just used to seeing JJ's offenses in the top 5 in the nation every year in scoring and total yards. Not number 60 or whatever we are this year. Once again. All because of QB play.
Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...Different game plan due to the defense Navy was running. More of a balanced attack which worked very well. We scored enough points to win this game. Not sure who you are looking at for next year, but they are not currently on the roster. The tall kid has the size, but that's it. Our O against UofH will be opened up and you will see the passing yards increase. Hope we can keep them off balance a little bit. D will have to step it up.

Are you talking about Padron or McDermott? How do you know they have size but that is it? "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...SFA and now Navy's backers took very deep drops. We run a lot of long intermediate pass routes. Those backers back so deep makes for narrow throwing lanes. We need some play action to freeze backers and open up the passing lanes down the field. That isn't BLM fault.
BLM did well enough to win. Two stupid penalties (PI and OS) hurt as did the dropped interception for 6. I suspect we will add more play action now that we have somewhat of a running game. That will help our passing game become a bit more explosive.
Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...
Agreed, although I place most blame on the quarterback. The lack of offensive production began before the first half was even over. Our offense's failures made our defense tired. Defeats often inevitable in military campaigns, but this was not one. This is yet another example of a defeat that should not have been. Far East Conference
Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...Bo has made tremendous progress the last few games due in large part to the OL.The problem is that the receivers other than #17 have not stepped up to the plate. To have this many drops from an experienced group is disappointing. I haven't seen any big time difficult catches except one the freshman made in the first game and maybe two or three that TW made. We should be catching just about every pass and on top of that making some hard to get receptions. I can think of at least 7 catchable balls that went incomplete and several more deep passes where the wideouts just gave up after being bumped and in some cases looked like that had no sight of the ball against Navy. Those receivers are all talented guys but it seems all of them besides Emmanuel are not all-around receivers. They either have speed and are inconsistent on cathing and route-running or they catch well but may lack a little speed. It is the coaches job to change the passing game to match the physical skill of your players instead of the other way around. What is odd is that probably the greatest Hawaii receiver Dev Bess was 5'10' 190 lbs and ran his 40's in the 4.7's at the NFL combine which is slow but now he is playing in the NFL! You would think good hands would be a priority after their experieence with Bess at Hawaii. Of course Hawaii had a different receiver coach and he didn't come with June. Sure would be nice to have a coach with experience playing and coaching that position like we have with some of the other coaches.

Are you Pony Warrior, BM's brother? I believe you are. Hello BM's brother. Far East Conference
Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...i wouln't say that bm lost the game but he didn't win it either. what's up with throwing into the endzone in ot. we lost that way at wsu and against navy.
the game should not have come down to this. we should have been up 35-7 at the half with the field position we had. the season doesn't rest on this game or the next two. that gives very little margin for error in the final four. must win three out of four and hopefully all four.
Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...I'm sorry that smuth's big brother is about to lose his job but the fact is that you play the those players with the althletic ability to reach your ultimate goals not the guys who will be riding the bench when you get there. I'm thinking you are taking some shots at Darius Johnson who has 6 catches in very limited playing time including one of the best catches in recent memory. Its eerie how similiar his first 2 game production to another guy you might have heard of when he was a freshman:
Emanuel Sanders Game 1- 2 catches 20 yards 10 ypc Long-12 Game 2- 4 catches 26 yards 6.5 ypc Long 9 TOTALS: 6 catches 46 yards 7.66 ypc Darius Johnson Game 1 4 catches 36 yards 9 ypc Long 18 1 TD Game 2 2 catches 17 yards 8.5 ypc Long 11 TOTALS: 6 catches 53 yards 8.8ypc 1 TD Last edited by Stallion on Mon Oct 19, 2009 2:00 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...BLM is not capable of leading this team to Jones' stated goal of getting bowl bids.............
Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...
All I have to say is after watching the film at the luncheon that if he had hit half his misreads or completed half of the bad throws SMU would have won the game. Not knocking Bo but it is the truth. He is getting better though. Rhienebold is doing a solid job. I guess since you are not in practice everyday you don't really see what is going on. Re: Did BLM Loose this Game tonight...He had a bad night, but I can't believe that he made some decisions he made. Like in the 4th quarter we had the ball at our six yard line and two of the three downs (including third down were long bombs - that were too long). The final incomplete pass of the game was into triple coverage and there was a guy in the other corner of the endzone wide open with no one within 10 yards. The drive to tie was great. 35 points is a good number to reach in any game, so he doesn't bear all of the blame. The defense offsides on 4th down and pass interference (even if it was a bad call) didn't help. And we didn't stop their run in the 3rd and 4th quarters at all.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
