It was fun to see that video of Peruna bucking and biting and being a little pain-in-the-[deleted]. That's what SMU should be... the little football team that is a pain-in-everone's-[deleted]. I appreciate the Pickens trying to further their cause, but this is a dumb idea. I hope those dudes aren't the ones doing their rope tricks, etc. We are the Mustangs/Ponies not the cowboys.

I had remained pretty neutral on this until seeing that spot. At some point you can't just wh0re yourself out to the highest bidder. with our place in the world right now, I know that is hard to do.

I wish that video of the Culwells and Peruna IX would be on tv so everyone can see how spirited he is. We don't want tame horses.

Don't mind the gift by the Pickens. A very nice gesture & thank you from me to them. Perhaps too much has been made of this whole thing in the first place. But what has come out of all this is our strong sense of tradition at SMU regardless of our football & basketball records over the last two decades. Some traditions just don't die nor should they & this is one of them - Peruna!

With that being said, college football is about tradition (at least I think it is???) & this is our tradition - like it or not! If they want to try these mustangs for awhile, so be it & good for them. The "mustangs" should not overshadow Peruna & her (or his) responsibilities during the game.

Is it weird that when they showed Peruna in that video I felt pride and love. But when Felio and El Suckass came on screen I felt anger and hate?

I'll tell you what causes a sense of pride, anticipation, etc....pre game when the band is in the corner about to march out, and Peruna is on the opposite corner, ready to run out, and you see Peruna strike his hoof on the ground, itching to move,,,now that'll get you going every time
