Close Score this Weekend a Must

Postby Pony in SA » Mon Oct 19, 2009 2:38 pm

I posted before I think this may be bad weekend for our guys, but I really, really hope that is not the case. Regardless, I ran into another older alum at lunch today and he pointed out that since we are playing a top 25 team our score will be all over the country this weekend so important we are not blown out. I didn't think about that.

If we could pull the upset and that score get pub all over this weekend what a boost to recruiting. Also, if we can just at least play it close and not get blown out by double digits I think that will help as well. Here's hoping for the big upset but praying we at least keep it close so score looks better when broadcast.

I'd be careful of the Japanese Puppet criticizing your approach for accepting a close loss. He will come down on you and call you unworthy. And he'll take your quote and pee all over it.

I'd take a close loss (10 points or less) over a blow out. General we have see too many bad outcomes together that for me that would be a victory.

Your multiple personalities are coming through again. You have to learn to accept them both and as a fat, little boy.

Our guys will play hard. If we can improve execution on offense, this game will be a barn-burner!

SMU Mustangs, Texans and the USA play to win. We are not happy with losing and moral victories and not getting blown out. Like the guys at the Alamo, there is no surrender and we will fight till the bitter end! Anything less is unacceptable! Hopefully, some of these Hawaii guys and yankees on the staff will realize just how important our football in Texas is and also what a big part SMU plays in that history. I bet they think the Cotton Bowl was built for the Cowboys! Doak and the Mustangs were THE team.

The Alamo is an interesting thing to bring up in this context, and undermines your argument. The Texans in the Alamo lost but it their courage is still highly regarded by Texans. By your logic we should not look on the Alamo with any pride at all since they lost.
