I had a friend who was in town from Germany with me at the game Saturday nite. He is a retired Major in the German Luftwaffe and spent a large portion of his career in the U.S.

I looked over to him right after the flyover and he literally had tears in his eyes. He said he saw the glow of the afterburners and teared right up.

Tears of joy - it was an emotional moment for him, being an old fighter pilot and having a strong connection to the US since he was stationed here for a number of years training pilots.

I brought my two grandsons ( 6 and 4 ) to the game and they were all eyes during the pregame activities. We had talked about the skydivers and that is what they were really excited about. The 6 year old was standing in the chair next to me during the National Anthem and I told him to look up as soon as it was over. We both watched them as they started over and like JTstang said, they had the afterburners on. I looked at my grandson and he just turned his head to me and had an expression that told me it was something he would never forget. It was amazing. I am so glad we brought them to the game. Of course I wanted them to see W also.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

The entire West side stand population seemed to sway with the vibrations. Awesome.

Here is a video that contains the fly-over. You are correct the timing was perfect. Not sure how they do that, but they flew over at the exact second they needed to. Sorry about the sloppy camera skills, but it will have to do for now.

They seem to pull that off with the same precision at Navy home games as well. An admiral friend of mine told me, these things are just training missions for the Navy. Now, if I was an enemy of America, I'd be a little nervous about that kind of precision.

Get off Coach's back — he is being paid to build a winning program, and he's doing exactly that.

The flyover was awesome ... although loud enough that I nearly had a heart attack.

Video almost brings back the feeling of being there. I am tempted to bookmark the video.

Statler is merely stating that with a new coach we are still, at times, prone to collapse in an all too familiar fashion.

When you rebuke others for their frustration with defeat, you reveal just how limited your own expectations are. The expectations that our generals have for this army are high in that they expect to continue fighting longer this year that last. It is only right that we have high expectations in turn that honor our generals and warriors, rather than shame them by being pleased with defeat so that victory itself becomes inconsequential.

I am lucky each year to get to attend the Texas/OU game and be on the sideline. On Saturday they had a fly over also and the pilots got to the game in the 2nd quarter. They happen to stand down by where I was and I got to talk to them. Two of the four pilots were Naval Academy graduates. I told them that I was an SMU alum and asked them if they were coming to our game, they said yes? So I invited them to come tailgate with us and they showed up. Our tailgating group had a blast with them and there stories about Iraq and Afghanistan. I can tell you that they liked Texas BBQ and cold beer, but who doesn’t. In the future when we play Navy at home those us who have spots on the Boulevard should make it a point to invite the Navy personnel at our game to eat and drink with each of us. We can’t do enough for these young people that put their life on the line for the rest of us.

I am no more pleased with defeat than anyone, including Coach Jones, and to suggest that my expectations are "limited" could not be more inaccurate. I'm merely looking at the big picture and realizing that after our record for last 20 years, we're not going to win every game overnight. I'm very disappointed every time we lose, whether it's to Florida or DeVry, but I also see the improvement that is so evident on the field, and I'm appreciative of everything Coach Jones and his staff are doing to get us pointed in the right direction.

Wow, in real life the fly-over seemed to last longer than that.
