I think the UT site between Ford and Bush Library is perfect.
I don't think that is the Dedman Center parking lot. I think that is next to the Dedman Center parking lot.

Re: Indoor Practice FacilityI have a question. Why not just enclose the current practice area? If they want to practice outside when it's nice, just go to Ford.
Re: Indoor Practice Facility
If you look at the map, I placed it just south of the Dedman parking, in an area that is now houses that I believe SMU owns, the west part of Potomac Park/median, and Potomac Ave. "I think Couchem is right."

Re: Indoor Practice FacilityWhy not just convert the current outdoor practice facility into an indoor area? If they want to practice outside, they can practice in Ford.

I like the way you think.

That's exactly what I was wondering. I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Re: Indoor Practice FacilityMy thought would be to convert the current practice area to an indoor facility. Not sure what they would do when the weather was nice, but I would think they could practice at Ford.

Re: Indoor Practice Facility
1. If you look closely at the aerial map above, you will see that the current practice area does not now provide a full 100 yd field with end zones. It does however have two short fields. If you built an enclosed practice structure there, they would have even less room inside. 2. The current practice field provides real grass turf to practice on when needed and thus needs to remain an outdoor practice area. 3. I don't think we would really want an indoor practice structure located at one of the main entrances to the campus or to block the view of Ford Stadium from that entrance. SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Re: Indoor Practice FacilityI'm pretty sure the TCU indoor field is only 80 yards.

Re: Indoor Practice FacilityNo way the school or UP allows a big ugly practice facility on the corner of Bishop and Mockingbird. The site south of the dedman parking lot, or someplace across 75, puts the building in a less prominent site.

Re: Indoor Practice Facilityhere's another school's indoor practice facility that's less than 100 yds...the building with "Seminole Indians" on it is the indoor practice field:
