That would do more for the success of the team than any mascot, traditional or non-traditional.

Rest assured Coach Jones feels no need to "save face," and it doesn't have a thing to do with his salary. When he wins more games than he loses and starts taking the Ponies to bowl games on a regular basis, he could run a Tibetan tree squirrel (I have no idea, either) out there, and we'll still hail him as a savior ... as we should.

I like the new horses. And I really admire the cause. But to make anything other than Peruna the school's mascot is just insane.
