Got to hand it to the DMN, they have really increased their SMU coverage..another good day to get the paper....Big color photo of Padron inside, along side an official color headshot of him and then full page article...in fact..SMU article/preview gets one page and the UT article/preview gets the other....both pretty equal in size...

Great read. I have high hopes for Padron. Not only does he pass the eyeball test - he just looks like a QB - the stuff about him being a leader is right on, he's always the first one out congratulating the offense when they score or patting Bo on the helmet after a three-and-out... and he calls the coaches sir.

You are right, he looks like a QB, he is 6'4'' (well, probably not really, but still much taller than Bo) and he is much more mobile...I really hope he gets the majority of the snaps up in Tulsa so we can see what he can do.

Padron looks Coach Jones eye to eye, in fact he might be a tad bit taller than Coach Jones. And Coach Jones is 6'4". Very humble young man. I truly wish him well.

Curious how the Rockwall kid got leap-frogged by Padron? Any insight that I've somehow missed on the board? Thanks :?:

Jones has pretty much said Braden never has a chance to be the starter. Braden is a hard worker and great at running and managing but he just does not have the arm to make the throws. Still can't wait to see what he can do on Saturday. Get another 80 yards rushing BS!

Kyle sat at my table for the kick off lunch. He is an extremely polite, intelligent young man, very likeable.

Needs a few pounds of beef put on but that will come. He could be the next face of SMU or a whipping post will see Saturday.

Let's go Mustangs

When Kyle was at that kick off luncheon he was about 200. He is now 210 and he will probably be about 220 by next year. But he has put on some weight since the kick off luncheon.

I don't think he meant at the kickoff luncheon.
