Phillips has a long history of chasing anything female that would give him the time of day. His extra curricular exploits as general manager of the Mets was well know with those around him and in the Mets front office despite only one situation being publicly revealed. As a general manager he was not very good ( actually lousy ) and had a number of years to make things happen for the Mets to no avail. Unfortunately, his attractive and devoted wife and 4 kids became the frequent victims of his indiscretions. I never understood why ESPN hired him as he really did not bring much to the table and Mets fans must have choked every time he made some grand baseball prediction and/or criticism.
