Hilarious.

I notice you toads point out Utah, because you cannot point to yourselves. Who has TCU beat? Clemson, Virginia? Wow. Powerhouse BCS schools. I gotta give it to y'all...you're AD has some intelligence when it comes to using smoke and mirrors to boost TCU's image. TCU = overated.

Haha, Clemson would crush LSU. We beat them in front of 80,000 fans in Death Valley - their only home loss this year. The rest are double digit wins. They crushed #9 Miami, Florida State and BC. Clemson is now ranked. BYU was 16th when we crushed them 38-7 in Provo.

And who has LSU beaten? Unranked Georgia? Vanderbilt? Tulane, ULa-La and Washington? You beat 4-5 Mississippi State by 4. Houston beat them by more than that!! haha, when ever they run up against a good team, they get their pants pulled down.

LSU sucks.

LSU gets less talented each year. TCU's success doesn't neccessarily hurt our recruiting. They're proof that a non-BCS team can actually compete with the big boys (check out their BCS record over the past 5 years) - that's important if you're going to be competing for the same guys BCS schools are...it's also a series that could turn into a marquee non-BCS matchup if we continue to improve at the rate we are.

Yes, it would necessarily hurt our recruiting especially the 2011 class. We are already looking at people that TCU's recruiting. The cold hard truth is not pretty or friendly. But it is reality. We can be friendly soft cross town rivals if we want. You want to root for a non BCS school to get to a BCS game root for Boise State.

There are enough D1A caliber players in the DFW area to feed both schools. Once you guys start getting really good (and you're already half way there with near certain bowl eligibility), you'll be taking players from Baylor, A&M and Tech that want to go to a top notch school - SMU. TCU is not hurting your recruiting at all.

I'm not so sure about that SMU86-the main thing is that SMU has shown tangible improvement this year. as long as a program is moving in the right direction in the W/L record you have a lot to sell. They don't divide recruits based upon won/loss records-its not a reverse NFL Draft. A lot of recruits would probably rather be part of the school rising than the school already on top-as long as there is momentum in the program and the rising school has a lot to offer

SMU has:

a better school
better city
better stadium
a proven coach

that being said the school look for different players especially on offense. TCU is always going to have an advantage recruiting RBs-but SMU should have the advantage recruiting QBs and WRs because that's what each school does. Some will want to stay in Texas some will want to see the West. Some will like TCU's 4-2-5 defense some like NGs will want to play in a 3-4. Some will want immediate playing time-advantage SMU-some will want to brag to their friends they play for a team that made a BCS bowl. Each school offers different opportunities-yes we will fight over 5-6 players but there are plenty of factors other than just W/L records. In the 70s-80s some of SMU best classes were when we were rising-some of our more disappointing class were when we were on top.

When you start talking tier 1 players the recruiting is serious and you know it. You are saying that because you guys a top recruiting class last year. Just like UT could not stand us in the 80's because we started picking off their top recruits so it gets nasty when upper tier program changing players are involved. Your coaches will use that (going to a BCS bowl) against us just as we would against you. We should want TCU to succeed about as much as we want North Texas to succeed. Again, it's not very pretty but it is true.

Stallion,

TCU has recruited better QB's and WR's since Jones has been here.

I'm not so sure of that after this year. TCU's new OCs are a bit more aggressive than Mike Schultz. Dalton has quietly compiled a #3 passing efficiency ranking. I'd put Kerley, Young and Hicks up against any three WRs in the nation. And they're all back next year, along with Dalton, Tucker, Wesley, all the TEs and 8 of 10 deep O-linemen. If you think this year is good for TCU, just wait till next year. Its that kind of sustained success that recruits like, IMHO.

He just proved my point and he did not even mention that they have 4 star QB Casey Paschal waiting in the wings.

Let's get real here.

Both TCU and SMU have Louisiana players that were slightly ignored by SEC schools, including LSU.

And these players will help BOTH schools now and in the coming years. Anybody that has been on the sidelines for frog games, SMU and SEC games knows the difference is obvious.

There is no question that TCU, this year, could play and beat most teams in the top 25 in a bowl game. Hats off to them.

There are also half a dozen teams in the SEC and 4 in the Big 12 that could beat the frogs, on any given day.

Enjoy what you have in ft. worth this year. You have earned it.

BTW - I believe tcu has a home and home with LSU starting in 2013.

Maybe this thread should be saved for a few years.

I hope we get a shot at a Big 12 or SEC team this year...
