I would like to second that.
I like to third that. Put the camera on some fans/ kids/ group and let them jump around. Maybe wearing the most SMU haberdashery gets you on the camera. But 86 the kiss cram. It can really kill a rally. I understand it was infamous at the SMU/Memphis basketball game last season. Killed the fans energy.

They want me to only do the points if it is a three point field goal.... "Haley Day For THREE!"
All I will say is that when you say "For THREE..." the band will be saying "...has just scored a THREE POINT PLAY." It's a tradition. Dan Bell (when he was the announcer) would announce three pointers this way: "Three Point basket scored by JON KILLEN!"

Hi Everyone.... Responses from questions submitted. Jay - The On Field ReporterAs previously replied already in this thread, Jay has tried to over compensate for the echo effect that she is getting on the field.... additionally..... the noise level down on the field is unbelievable. Not only are you dueling with two bands, two teams, the pom squad, the cheerleaders and the fans.... you have an earpiece stuck in your ear listening to the director with your cues. As said before, I will tell Jay all of your comments. Injury MusicYes, our bad on that. As the entire production crew is brand new, including me, we are learning as we go along. Duly noted again. Quiet - Offense At WorkI Absolutely love that and have forwarded it on to my boss. PerunaI have made a mental note to do something when Peruna makes his run. Thanks. Kiss CamUnfortunately, Prego is a Mustang Sponsor and pays the University for this promotion. I hate it too. One of these days the cameraman is going to accidently have two men or two women in a shot. Thanks again everyone for your positive and great input. David

I don't know who is in charge of things like this, but whoever it is may want to inform Prego that it's probably not a good idea to have a promotion that often turns into a make-out fest sponsored by a business whose name is a slang term for "Pregnant."

Just remind her that as loud as it seems to her down there on the field...she has a mic and she doesn't have to yell to be heard. The amplifier will take care of it for her.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

And don't forget to remind her that she is extremely hot, in case she forgets.

okay Mustangs voice...here is a must-do.
All those down times when the jumbotron is just flashing SMU or whatever...I think you should have a recurring theme of Margus Hunt-isms, along the line of Chuck Norris-isms.
Flash a pic similar to my avatar on the jumbotron, with text along the lines of:
When the boogeyman goes to sleep, he checks his closet for Margus Hunt.
then later in the game...same pic..
Margus Hunt doesnt breathe, he holds air for hostage..
then
There is no theory of evolution. There are simply species that Margus chose to allow to live.
Margus Hunt has already been to Mars; that's why there are no signs of life there.
or Margus Hunt sleeps with a nightlight. Not because Margus Hunt is afraid of the dark, but because the dark is afraid of Margus Hunt.
We have on our team someone of unusual talent and potential...I say exploit it. College kids love a cult hero.

I propose using the Ivan Drago "you will lose" line from Rocky IV before every opponent kick attempt.

I am really impressed with you for coming on here soliciting feedback, it says a lot about your professionalism and character to engage with a crowd that might have been critical, but I have to ask something. Does the quote above mean that the entire production crew is brand new to producing football games? I am hoping it just means brand new to producing football games at SMU but they have a lot of experience producing other live events. Nothing against you and all of the other people who are clearly much improved since the beginning of the season, but I am disappointed with the Athletic Department if they hired all rookies to run the show. That is not the right way to do things. Hopefully I misunderstood your meaning.

We ALL have a minimum of 30 years experience in production, audio, video and broadcast. When I refer to rookie, I'm referring to the way SMU wants us to do things. David

Welcome to SMU, David. I have enjoyed your calls of the first few game. Actually, I think it's great that Prego's chooses to sponsor SMU athletics. It's just a shame that's where they choose to spend their cash. A) Sideline reporter is probably very nice, but until the sound system is improved, she has got to go. B) Invite Prego's to spend their money on another promotion. Kiss cam is awful. C) I'd say hold off on calling Hunt "the Terminator" until he does more on defense. That kid's going to be a star.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

Re: Kiss Cam
The next time you're patronizing Prego, tell 'em you appreciate their support of S.M.U. athletics but that the Kiss Cam needs to go. Tell a manager.
