Re: How many militaryTwo years ('69 & '70) active duty U.S. Navy...Vietnam War. Two tours South China Sea off the coast of Vietnam supplying ammo to our warships.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: How many militaryThanks all for your service.
God bless those no longer with us and those still serving.
Re: How many militaryThanks to all of you who served out there. Dad did four years in the Corps, 2 tours in Vietnam. I think yesterday he was flying three flags at the house: US, USMC and SMU!
Derail the Frogs!
Re: How many militaryI stupidly forgot to mention The Colonel, my wife who has been serving on Army active duty now for 5 years (total 35 years on active duty and Reserve). She is stationed in D.C. writing policy for taking care of the injured reservists returning from overseas. A very important, humbling, and rewarding job in which she excels!
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: How many militaryFive years active 3 reserve in the Navy, defending Japan and California from impending Soviet domination
![]() Feeling that, in light of the current geopolitical situation, my service was no longer relevant, I joined the Texas National Guard and am awaiting OCS in February. I would like to take a minute to send out special thanks to those Vets who's service has put them in harm's way. I don't make a point of my Veteran status because, frankly running around the Pacific drinking beer and chasing tail wasn't much of a sacrifice for me. I'm thankful for that, but I'm even more thankful for those who were called to a greater task. <S>. -CoS Last edited by Cadillac on Wed Nov 11, 2009 9:10 pm, edited 1 time in total.
