Man Nevada beat Fresno 52-14-they may be the hottest team in the non-BCS except for TCU. Regularly putting up 50.

JJ has earned the right to make the decision...now it means SMU fans have a bowl game they could go to.

dont worry lol you wont be playing Nevada... most likely it'll be vs Idaho, a very winnable game... theyre actually in the same boat as SMU... first bowl game in who knows how long... The have some decent players, but IMO i think SMU is better.. better players, and better coaching...

naw money wont be an issue... imagine how many rich SMU boosters will donate money if SMU goes and wins their bowl game... much more than the 1 million they'd get for getting stomped by an sec team...

JJ and staff know those teams pretty well as they are used to playing them. Again the more we win the more donations start coming into SMU. The mil difference will be nothing in retrospect.

Idaho? With SmU, I am always waiting for the shoe to drop. Playing Idaho in bowl game would almost seem like a cruel joke after 25 years. Cmon, nothing against Idaho, but SMU going to bowl should be a great return from the dead story. You don't return from the dead to play Idaho.

If not for SMU, Jones would not be making $2 mil per.
Jones is already well-compensated for his duties.
I'm amazed he's actually lobbying for Hawaii over the Liberty Bowl.

And what's this talk about, "We'll not miss the million dollars because all the money will come rolling in." (??) Won't it come rolling in too if we go to the Liberty Bowl? ?

This will be interesting to see if Orsini and Turner take control of this situation and do what's best for SMU and its fans.

As one who frequently b!tches about a miserable 42-0 whipping at Fresno St, I'd like to have a shot at watching the Ponies give it back to them. Also would help as the UH fans love to hate Fresno.
