I predict a near sellout if we make it to the title game, but Tulane will be a ghost town no matter what.

Granted it was family weekend and a lot of students were sitting on the opposite side of the field with their parents rather than in the student section, but I was amazed at the number of neighborhood people and students that were down on the field at the end of the game.

The team was really into it, and that was great to see. It was a feeling unlike I've had at any other SMU game, the TCU upset included.

Just a great night all around, and I'm sure the team would agree. Being surrounded by other students and fans that are cheering them on at the end must have been a great feeling.

the big plays the defense allowed sucked the spirit right out of us. We still rallied.

In the nearly 10 years that I have had season tickets, I could not ever remember the crowd being anything close to what I would describe as "electric". But after that long TD run by Shawnbrey, and then after Thompson's 2nd sack on 4th down, that is exactly what it was....electric. Unbelievable game, unbelievable feeling. It wasn't a perfect win, but in years past, we didn't know how to win ugly, so I'll take it.

the loudest Ford Stadium has ever been was the home opener against Kansas when SMU made a goal line stand late in the game. There were more than 30k at that game and it was fun to see what Ford might become some day.

UTEP brings a decent crowd. They probably bring more fans than any other conference opponent (except for Houston - when they are winning). I looks forward to the day the visitor's side is full of SMU fans and you have to look to the end zone to see any empty seats. A winning SMU team should bring out more of our missing alumni and we should see crowds of 25k in Ford no matter who we are playing.

A majority of the crowd stuck around for Varsity. That was a very nice moment to savour.

I am amazed and evidently I missed the game. No way there were as many people at this game as there were for Rice. Yes, there were a few more visitors, but there were conspicuous open areas on the west side which is usually not the case. I would have guessed around 13,000 to 14,000. I do not know how they count now days (ticket sales or actual butts in the stadiujm) but I could believe that many parents bought tickets and then took child to the mall instead of the game, but I cannot believe this figure. But I do believe the final score and that is a good thing.

Totally disagree with you on that one. Many more people in the endzone for this game, UTEP had twice as many as Rice and we had more students at this game....

You may be right on the end zone but I think more students were at homecoming, at least for the first half. What surprised me was the absence of west side attendees. Looking up from my seats which are down low, there were large open spaces.

Really I was on the West side like always and it sure seemed crowded to me. I couldn't even slide over to get closer to the 50, I had to slum it on the 35. I did notice how the stadium filled up during the game. The 1st quarter was pretty sparse but as the game continued it really seemed to fill up. The East side looked scattered but still a good amount of folks.

I heard yesterday that there were actually close to 20,000 at the Rice game. Remarkably, we miscounted something.

Wait until the tcu ame next year. Sellout

I could believe that. IMO, if Rice was 15,000 yesterday was not 21,000.
