Guys, act like you been there before (for some of us we have). :o  :D

Well, maybe that is a bit harsh after 20+ years. I didn't cry but that old winning feeling has returned. And it does feel like I been there before. Too long since that old feeling has come around.

Now beat Marshall and complete the dream.

Sorry, but I havent been here before...not with SMU. An SMU game has not been that exciting during the post-DP era.

I do agree...lets enjoy this for today...and then on to Marshall!!!

Count Mama in with the tears welling up crowd. Stallion is 100% correct. I wish my dad were here to enjoy this. He and I went to some of those last bowl games in the 80's, including a long quiet ride home to Camarillo after the Holiday Bowl. I will have to watch the today's game again to figure out how we were outgained by 200 yards and still won. Thompson's sack was huge. It seems somebody made a play when they needed to, all around. I think that's coaching and making kids believe. Here's to taking the Iron Skillet back. The whole team gets Mama's Waterboy Award this week. By the way, where do I find a Padron and a Hunt jersey?

The crowd noise during that last play and the eruption after the sack is the loudest I have ever heard Ford get. Normally after a game, about half of the fans start to leave before singing varsity. I don't think a single person left early after this one.

Go Mustangs!!!

The crowd really seemed to get into it yesterday, more than I have seen in the past 3 years. It didn't cry but did make my wife go down on the field with my two boys (5&7) to congratulate the team. It was a great day. Lets start to focus on Marshall and truly have our first winning season.

Being in the student section was an absolute blast. In my 4 years on the Hilltop that game definitely takes the cake is so many aspects. For all the heart breaking losses I have had to endure over the past 4 years, I cannot imagine what the last 20+ years have felt like. Redemption is sweet my friends, and congrats to all of you who have supported this program for so long.

On another note, rushing the field and talking to all of the players, I have never seen SMU fans, parents, athletes go giddy with excitement. It was one for the ages.

I was working in someone's home in Larchmont, NY, following the game thread on PF with my Blackberry (thanks everybody, btw). I admit I did get emotional towards the end there, glad nobody was looking at me

I rushed the field first (blue jeans, red polo) with my friend (shirt ripped off). I stayed away from the fated goal posts.

The only unique thing I noticed is that you really can't understand how big 6'8" 270lbs until you try to tackle him when you're drunk and he's excited. Wow.

No shame in admitting that I got weepy. I saw quite a few people with tears while I was wandering around the field after the game. Just a range of emotions all at once after the sack on fourth down. Relieved, happy, excited, joyful...what a night.

Yesterday was up there with watching the Miracle on Mockingbird and beating Pitt on the sleet field of the Cotton Bowl. I am back to following all of college football to see how other games impact the ponies-been a very long time since I cared about SMU's place in college football. So great to feel that we are back.

Guilty!

A year ago shortly after June was hired 5 of my 89' teamates and I had great dinner at Bob's with JJ (thanks again Greg Z).
If was a very cool night talking football and getting to know Coach. The one thing that really stuck out from that night was when June looked in our eyes and said " guys, SMU will win!"
Little did I know it would happen so fast. I came away that night being a bigger JJ fan and truley believing he could be the one guy to change the culture of losing at SMU.
Congrats to the Pony players all that hard work is paying off.
Keep Believing Pony Fans!
