Any updates on his injury? Last I heard was he waiting to do the MRI. We need this guy on the field.

Another thread said dislocated kneecap. I need to hear from doctors. Isn't this better than a torn ACL? Either way, looking at him in crutches, I am pretty sure he is done for this year.

here's what one source says about non-operative management. Of course we'd all like to hear the perspective of the board orthopedist as well..

"Most patients with patellofemoral instability should be treated initially with aggressive, well monitored, non-operative rehabilitation(7). After dislocation, initial healing and pain relief can be helped if the knee is immobilised in a brace. The total immobilisation period is three to six weeks, and there is no good evidence to suggest that one or other form or brace should be preferred: a full brace, posterior support or patella tracking orthoses are all options"

here's another resource:

Recovery Time Frame

Most patellar dislocations take awhile to heal. The first 3-4 weeks are a protective phase to allow the tissues to heal and tighten down. After that, strengthening can progress. Athletes should be back to normal in 3-5 months after injury.

Some patellar dislocations may require surgery to re-align the patella or to repair the damaged tissues. Surgery is usually not performed unless conservative rehabilitation fails.

It was sad to see. As soon as he went down he started pointing to his knee and signaling for help.

Morning news did not specify the injury but said he's like out of the season.

When Moore came out of the locker room after getting hurt, he told the radio sideline guy that he had a dislocated kneecap and was waiting on an MRI." I'm no doctor, but that sounds like ACL concern.

That sucks - he has been a great find this year. Here's to a full recovery, Sterling. If you're not back this year, thanks for a great season, and here's to an even better season next year.

the late qualifier out of California has never gotten into a game right? Jones thought he would make an immediate contribution but I don't think he has. Anybody know his progress.

Here's a pic from Sterling Moore's Facebook page of the injury as it happened. Sterling's comment says "See the dent in my left knee, thats where my knee cap was suppose to be.....DISLOCATED KNEE"
