I just want to see us correct a few things so we can beat Marshall on the road then beat Tulane and play for the title. I don't want to go with the "hope we get lucky again strategy". We are not allowed to dissect the game? It gets boring arguing over what bowl we are going to and which mascot we like YAWN! I have been a loyal supporter since 1989 pouring my hard earned dough into this program.

WOW!! I am glad that your ego has led you to believe your post will get tghe team ready for the last two games. Thanks for clarifying that. I thought the coaches and the team had something to do with it. By the way, when will we learn whether or not the Rcie and UTEP games will be counted as wins? Check with ponysnob and get back to me.

SMU is playing to win right now. They are pretty much playing to the level of the opponent. That is why all the close games. SMU is not playing to move up in the BCS rankings, but to win. That's exactly what they need to be doing right now. Keep an eye on your back, keep the mistakes limited, and win any way you can. Next year SMU may be playing the BCS rankings game and try to blowout some teams. For now, they are doing what needs to be done. Congratulations to SMU.

to go from a one win season to this...who would have thought. We don't have the talent vs. most of these teams, but we win.
I don't like giving up that much yardage...its absurd. I don't like seeing their RB get a screen pass play on 1st and goal at the 30. I saw that coming and they tried it several times, yet we didn't seem to even load up to cover him. They are a much better fball team than their record - they just make boneheaded plays and mistakes. Don't take away the fact we were down 2x and came back to seal it.

I know we are "learning how to win" but until that final stop we had the calmest? most chillaxed sideline I've ever seen. Good thing or bad thing? Personally I'd have liked seeing more cheering, more sideline leadership, jumping up and down encouragement...but maybe they're just mirroring their coach. Thoughts?

Not to pee on the parade but we've won only three times as many games as the previous two seasons.

Saying we gave up a lot of yards and points is not dissecting the game. Dissecting the game would have been saying something about specific tactics. If you want to see us correct a few things, why don't you share them. I am sure everyone would love your insight.

No problem with the criticism LHP. There will be a time, years from now, when the quality of a win will be something to argue. I think our lack of depth prevents us from anything approaching a dominating victory or defensive performance. Dooby's comments are spot on also.
Big picture, we are trying to recruit our way to a 2-deep, and recruits only see "6-4" "first place" and "bowl game" not "Bukram 246 yards." And the recruits are who I am concerned about impressing, personally.
We can all see a tangible improvement in the way this team plays. It is so obvious to the naked eye that the win total and the bowl this year was not so crucial - we could tell that was a matter of when not if. But they have really overachieved this year and surpassed whatever expectations we might have had. Really proud of what is going on there.
If we want to get upset about something, Sterling Moore is an irreplaceable loss, probably more important than anyone but McNeal.

we are certainly more than a year away from dabbling in the BCS discussion...we will have to leap a few hurdles before that, including beating tcu and going undefeated for probably 2 strait seasons before we get seriously talked about...a lot like Boise St. did, the door isnt open yet to undefeated non-BCS schools to get a piece of the pie

Its a freakin message board-quit getting your panties in a wad. I felt like the amount of offense people were putting us on was enough concern to discuss. You know we were 10 seconds from having our saturday ruined and you know it. I would be happy to go back and join in your mascot blather if you want. I will keep it to kitty cats and daffodils from now on.
