BCS games will once again be a yawner. Good Nap Games. We want to see the best games between the best teams. What the BCS does is spread the best teams out in separate bowls to ensure that we don't. College Football is so screwed up.

The guy obviously hasn't had any conversations with JJ.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

The June Jones formula - Take a bottom-of-the-barrel team in a mediocre league, get them to a bowl game with a real deal BCS team, get slaughtered, and then get hailed as a hero.

I'm down. See you on Biel Street.

I think someone already mentioned this, but in the DMN rundown of bowl scenarios, Kate says that the Liberty Bowl is obligated to take the conference champion. I'm assuming this ESPN rundown operates under that same idea, hence SMU in the Liberty. Us playing Auburn would be pretty interesting...

The Liberty Bowl is "obligated" to take the champ.
The champ evidently isn't "obligated" to "accept the Liberty Bowl.

I thought about it and realized, maybe JJ doesn't want to face another SEC opponent like he faced at Hawaii??? Maybe that beat down against Georgia scarred him a bit

The big difference between us and Hawaii, if I can make such conjecture so early, is that when June leaves us, we will be able to pick up another good coach. Due to the location, the prestige, and the dedication to the football team.

If the guys win out they deserve the Liberty Bowl. But Thats 3 more wins! But I think we can do it! Wouldnt we have ECU at home for the champ game?
