CUSA Championship Game Question

Postby huskerpony » Sun Nov 15, 2009 6:57 pm

Getting way ahead of myself here, but if this were to be at Ford, when would it be?

The Big 12 Championship is at Jerry World at 7pm the same day. I think I read something the other day--which I can't find now--that the CUSA Championship can be moved to Friday night too. Would it be best to have it be the early game Saturday?

Looks like there are a bunch of WAC games early that day, a bunch of Big East games that aren't scheduled yet, and USC-Arizona at 2:30. SEC championship is at 3, Big 12 and ACC championships are both at 7. Friday night the only other game scheduled is the MAC championship.

I vaguely remember last year watching it early on that Saturday (championship Saturday) on ESPN2. But I could be wrong. Friday night would be cool.

After a quick look back in the C-USA website:
2008 - Tulsa hosting - 11 am Sat. on ESPN 2
2007 - UCF hosting - 11 am Sat. on ESPN
2006 - Houston hosting - 7 pm Fri. on ESPN 2

The game will be televised by either ESPN or ESPN2. The ACC Championship game is at 7PM on ESPN and the Big 12 Championship game is at 7PM on ABC.

ESPN2 already has the MAC championship game on Friday night.

So, my guess is it will be an early game, maybe 11AM or a 2PM kick...

I personally think that Saturday night will be the bigger night, especially if we pull off the W. I have to reasonably assume that we will be slated for the Noon ET kick off. ESPN will get killed in ratings if it is a 3 PM ET start (UF/Alabama is at 4:00 ET start). Also, the Pitt/Cinci game will be on. I am assuming that will be a 3:30 ET/7 ET kick off.

I am guessing we get the 11 am game too. I just hope we don't get some stupid ESPN reverse coverage window against a Big East game and a WAC game. Although if Nebraska beats K State next week, I am trying to convince my dad to drive down with me and hit two conference championship games in a day!
