I graduated in 2003 (0-fer season) and suffered through some awful performances prior to that time, so I didn't ever really experience a "buzz" around campus about winning or school pride of any kind as it related to football while I was at SMU.
For you current students - what is going on out there now? Are the students and faculty really more into the football program this year, or is it just a few people here and there? Some posters have alluded to a new feeling on campus, but that's about all I've seen to this point.
Would be good to hear that the students (and maybe by some miracle the faculty) would start pulling for the team instead of taking jabs at them every chance they get.

Slightly on topic, I heard a bunch of people discussing our bowl options while I was at dinner last night. Also, I went to Jack in the Box the other day. The guy at the drive-thru noticed my hat and congratulated me on SMU making the playoffs.

I took my wife to lunch in Richardson at a place called Austin Ave. II.
There was a group of over 55 year old men ( reminded me of a Dairy Queen sceen in a small town ) They were talking footbal. And talking about SMU and bowl game.
As my wife and I were leaving... I walk over to their table and said, Excuse me butI would like to let you know that SMU has a promotion for the after Thanksgiving Saturday game. Since the students are back home for Thanksgiving, SMU loweredthe ticket price to 10 dollars. You should come see the Mustangs play... Have a nice day.
Theyt said thanks and you never know.
Yes, people are talking. AND IT IS GOOD TALK.

That's AWESOME! But how did I miss the announcement that the BCS has been disbanded? I wear SMU gear everywhere. Of course, I always did, but now I'm wearing more of it. In the last week alone, I have been stopped in the grocery store, when I've gone out to eat, when I got my car inspected and several times at the gym. Damn, it feels good to be a PonyFan!

Earlier this year (after the Tulsa game), I mentioned that one of my professors had mentioned the big win (without mentioning that we played Tulsa) and asked how many had watched the game. Only 2 had raised their hands and one person actually said "We beat Navy?"
I am pleased to say that the other day, when the professor asked the class what time the Marshall game would kickoff, 3/4 of the class said "it's at 3:30 and it's not on TV but you can listen on the radio" all at once.
