While I like your suggested phrase, I disagree with your assessment of the mustang fans. It takes a great deal of provocation to get those around me to pay attention, and cheer at the appropriate times.
abezontar: I agree. I don't think the average Mustang fan knows when to cheer and when not to. The last words I would use to describe SMU fans are "football savvy."
