This is SMU's trap door game and I think this is SMU's most important game. Marshall is favored by 3 points. Too close to call a winner. Marshall is a 5-5 team. This is no pushover. And they are playing at home. They want to be the spoilers. SMU is experiencing the most progress in 25 years and have been getting national attention the past week. The motivation to burst SMU's bubble is there. Success and notoriety means everyone will be gunning for you. The incentive is there, especially if the spread is there. SMU is not a team that can blow you over. This is a road game. If it was at home, I would give it to SMU but it is on the road. This is a young and beat up team. But all teams are beat up at this time of the season. But SMU is a team of young over achievers with no depth. So how is the depth on the Marshall team? Who wants to win this game more? It will be close. It will come down to turnovers and it will come down to the fourth quarter. This will be a dog fight! I love college football! This is right up JJ's alley!!! Leave no doubt! Win 7! Just win baby! Beat Marshall!!!

I think #1 SMU @ #2 TCU for the 1935 national championship was just a little more important.

OK. I guess you got me. I guess I meant in modern SMU history. You know. When they had cars, airplanes, electricity, and flushing toilets. OK, OK. Since the DP. 25 years ago.

This is an important game, SMU has had probably 30-40 more important ones in it's history, but since the DP this has to be one of the most, if not the most. If they win, then next week will be, then the Conf. Championship, then the Bowl, where ever that takes place.
Then of course the opener at TT next yr. So there is a lot riding for SMU, and JJ on each game from here on out.

I suggest you change the title to avoid further embarrassment. Beside everybody knows Mike Cavan's victory over Kansas in the Ford Debut was the Greatest Game in Post DP History

When we start out 2-0 next year against Texas Tech and TCU, that will be bigger! Beat Marshall!

Your right, hope we live long enough to see the day when Texas will play SMU. Hope it's on ABC. I don't even care if it's a bowl game. On this subject, about the biggest game since the DP, I kinda have a feeling it happened last week. I think SMU turned the corner. It should be good from here though the coming days and years. Maybe even great in a couple of yr.s. Like 1982 great.

One of the next two. To be on schedule for the goal of the season. Let's not over do the importance of this game. Of course winning out would be huge. And, we are not favorites in this game.
Go Ponies!! Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad

Marshall is favored by 3, not SMU.

Next weeks game is more important. It will either determine CUSA West Divsion Championship, or, if we lose today, give us the opportunity for 7 wins thus assuring we cannot end the year with a losing record, and erase all doubts as to getting a bowl game if that is not determined by then. Marshall is a very, very big game and we cannot win the Championship without it, but I still look at next weeks game, regardless of today's outcome, as a bigger game.
