Uh-oh Tyler John Tyler has dug itself a big hole. Tyler Lee returned opening KO for TD and then has hit on big TD plays of over 70 and 30 and lead 21-0 in less than 9:00 minutes of first Quarter. Johnson has lead them back to 21-7. I think he hit 8 passes in a row. David Smoak of Smoaky.com the King of East Texas Football is doing a play by play at the link. My hunch-this will just drive up Johnson's stats because he'll have to play 4 Q

UPDATE: Tyler Lee 28 Tyler John Tyler 17 Final

Jeremy Johnson was held to 8 yards rushes on 14 carries and I know was sacked several times. He was accurate but not as effective as usual passing with 22 completions on 31 attempts for 190 yards and 1 Interception. I know he had at least one TD pass called back on a penalty. Rickey Collins caught 5 passes for 51 yards.

Hey Stallion — I know a lot of people (including me, sometimes) like to give you hell every now and then, but thanks for taking the time to update these guys' performances each week. Love keeping track of our future Ponies!
I know you take a lot of grief on here sometimes. Figured you should know that some of your posts are appreciated, too.

Classic matchup and game last Friday Nite between DeSoto and Tyler John Tyler for the District Title. DeSoto has as much yalent as just about anyone in Texas with Top 25 recruits going to Texas and LSU among others. DeSoto's only loss was by 3 to No. 1 Cedar Hill in their only real challenge of the season. DeSoto was riding an 8 game winning streak. TJT fell behind 21-7 but later had a 41-34 lead. DeSoto drove the field in final seconds scoring with about :16 left to make it 41-40. DeSoto went for 2 rather than OT but was unsuccessful. TJT wins 41-40. Looks like they are now keying on Jeremy Johnson as he was limited to 11 carries for 38 yards. But 2 RBs had over 100 yards rushing. Rickey Collins was limited to 1 catch but it was a big one-41 yards and a TD. Johnson was only 1-6 for the 41 yarder to Collins.

Texas Football Playoff Preview:

Tyler John Tyler (9-1) vs. Copperas Cove (8-2)
7:30 p.m. Friday, Tyler's Rose Stadium

In the playoffs, everyone always talks about matchups, and with good reason -- one team's villain is another's victory, and differences in style are the differences between a state semi and a soyonara. Well, this is a classic case of a bad matchup -- John Tyler's excellent running game against Copperas Cove's mildly suspect run defense. John Tyler QB Jeremy Johnson, and SMU pledge, has already run for more than 300 yards in a single game this season, and the Vince Young comparisons have been pretty hot and heavy since day one. He's going to be the critical player for the Lions against Cove -- few teams sport as much recent playoff success as do the Bulldawgs, and the coaching staff is top notch. But for once the talent may not be there to make a strong run, and even though Cooper Brock (the youngest of the family) has been great this year, I think Johnson is going to be too much, especially at home. Johnson runs wild, and Cove is sent packing. Prediction: John Tyler 35, Copperas Cove 21

In game 1 of the Playoffs TJT again got off to a horrible start with an Interception and fumble that lead to a quick 14-0 deficit to Copperas Cove. However, TJT has now tied it up. You can follow a Play by Play at the link.

UPDATE: TJT 49 Copperas Cove 21 Final

Jeremy Johnson with about 225 yards rushing-maybe a couple of yard less because of taking knee twice-had 45 yard run called back

Johnson had a 45 yard TD run called back in 2nd Q but then in the words of David Smoak-"Johnson reverse pitch to David Bush---DEEP THROW FOR RICKY COLLINS-DIVING CATCH IN TRIPLE COVERAGE, TOUCHDOWN JOHN TYLER--what a great play"

Jeremy Johnson with about 184 yards rushing early in 3rd Q-just had a 48 yard run

Officially Jeremy Johnson ended with 240 yards rushing on 20 carries a nice 12 yards per carry for a QB at 5A level. BTW Tyler John Tyler's next game is against Lake Highlands-don't we have some LH fans on here that go to the games at Wildcat-Ram Stadium here in Richardson.

Yes, I went to Lake Highlands. The year we won state we beat Tyler John Tyler in the quarter finals. I like Jeremy and Ricky but I have to root for the Wildcats.

Looks like another wild one for TJT-TJT I think has scored on every offensive possession including a 68 yard bomb from Johnson to Collins but only leads 36-23 late in second quarter against Lake Highlands
UPDATE: Tied at 39 heading to 4th Q
UPDATE: Tied at 46 with about 2 minutes left
UPDATE: 61 yard run by Johnson to LH 17 with a minute left
UPDATE: 53-46 TJT. LH on 42 with :42 seconds-What a game
TJT SURVIVES-I hope we have a report from some SMU Lake Highlands fans

Another fabulous performance by Jeremy Johnson. Johnson had 19 carries for 231 yards more than 12 yards per carry and was 8-12 for 168 yards passing including two TDs of 68 yards to Rickey Collins and a 45 yarder to David Bush. 0 Ints. Johnson added 2 TD runs of 32 and 3-but probably the biggest play of the game was his 61 yard run to the 17 yard line with about a minute left. Collins finished with 95 yards receiving on 3 catches and added 1 carry for 6 yards. Johnson has to be at the Top of the List for East Texas Player of the Year.

Jeremy Johnson is one incredible player. I just watched one of the best high school games ever. John Tyler returns the favor of knocking us out of the playoffs. Johnson is a stud! Very Very elusive and does not go down with an arm tackle. Ricky Zorn played just as well..2 great QB's
