The flying in a plane for that distance may, may come into it. I know different breeds do come with different abilities, problems etc.

I think that was just the excuse they gave you so you would stay home.

It would be tough for Peruna to go on a trip that long. He gets angry sometimes just coming from his 'home' to SMU and starts kicking the sides of his trailer. I'd hate to imagine what he'd do in a plane.

I doubt that will be a problem - once the call goes out. Did Peruna go in '84? If those ridiculous geldings show up along with the Cowboy chumps, Rojo and Azul, that'll REALLY be embarrassing. People who have tons more money than sense are f'ing us over. Go meddle in the OSU bowl plans.

If "imports" are not allowed, wouldn't you think we could "borrow" a black shetland from somebody on the island? There's bound to be one - you'd think. Peruna by proxy.

Bergermeister..to insure your desires.. please pay for Peruna and the handlers ans lodging and meals and trrasportation on the island. 100K ought to pay for it.

Or, make a plea for funds and set up an account.

If you can buy 'em, they must have them.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

yeah but no stallions are available on their site.

Mrs. Pickens could score big with Peruna fandom by offering to "fly over that little Peruna, he's so cute"

Need a black one and that would be WAY cheaper just to rent a pony.

Cost effective marketing wins again.

also, we could do what some smaller schools do for the NCAA bball tournament...throw a few sheckels towards UH, teach their band to play Peruna, and buy 'em a bunch of red polos and beanies

Or the university could do like they did the last time the school was in the NCAA men's tourney and not send the band at all but a bunch of high end donors and admins. Honestly, wouldn't surprise me. I hope that those kids go but it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't.

edit:SMU was the only university that year to not send a band.

Unless they tranquilize those geldings, I'd be surprised if they didn't get a little testy too on that long a flight...not to mention air sick. After all, these are "wild" mustangs use to running free...yeah, riiight.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

The band will be there. At the end of our run in the WAC, didn't they find the means to get to Hawaii, even when they couldn't get to Houston?

Diamond Girl, you didnt answer Spaz's question. Where did you hear that? Not about the horses, but about the band and peruna not going?

Bleeding Red+Blue, in 2000, I remember sitting home watching the Hawaii game on satellite, and wishing they'd sent the band, and then being extremely jealous when I saw our cheer team on the sidelines. I think they spent a week out there...

The school only sent the band to Rice that year, about 30 of us paid out of our own pockets to drive down and have a little 'pep band' at the Houston game, and 4 of us drove all night in a Honda Civic to the NC State game.

I may not be good fan (ironic after all the grief I have given certain others on this board over the years). I simply cannot summon an ounce of interest in whether Peruna makes the trip or not. I just don't get the passion over a toy horse.

Now I would be very upset if our excellent band wasn't there.
