http://gofrogs.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/112509aaa.htmlNot sure if this is a good thing or bad thing when trying to determine the talent of 3 of our upcoming opponents (counting TX State twice b/c of the odd home & home OOC arrangement), but TX State took TCU to 3OT last night at DMC. Frogs won 108-99. It'll be very interesting to see how we play against these 2 teams in the 3 games. At least there should be a little bit of atmosphere for the TCU game next Tues...

omg, fire TCUs head coach, it's like 4 games in, and they barely won

Or TX State is a pretty good team again and all 3 of these games are going to be tough ones...

no doubt all of them will be tough. Ws are Ws, though. Just get them, and worry about style points later

These types of games are fun to be at.
Didn't we (read=killen) take UTEP to a game like that a couple years ago?

Doh, we have a home and home w them. We may beat them in Moody. All bets are off in San Marcos.

Mostly, this is an demonstration of TCU's lack of depth. They basically go with 7 guys, 4 play 30+ minutes per game, and 3 playing 20+. Three guys score almost all their points, and they have zero depth in the post. TCU played 3 games in 4 days, starting with a tough road trip at Nebraska on Saturday, followed by a win at home over Colgate on Monday. Tuesday night, they didnt have their legs, and a couple of the guys they rely on for points shot poorly. In the end they managed to scrape out a win. but I'm not surprised that the Frogs struggled a bit when they had to play without any rest. The Colgate and Texas St. games were part of the consolation bracket of the preseason NIT, so they werent originally scheduled to play that many games close together.
I may go over to watch TCu on saturday, I'll post more about their personnel before the game, wednesday.

That's a pretty good bet considering we didn't win a road game last season.

I am willing to say that the TCU game is close to a must win for SMU. This is a team that should be pretty solid in CUSA this season and if that is true, they should be able to take down their rival at home. A win would go a long way to giving this SMU team some strut in its step.
