Good idea, bad idea?

I think that concept kind of blew up in FSU's face w/ the Jimbo Fisher/Trooper Bowden fiasco. However, at Texas I think it's kind of a plus.

Maybe not this year or next, but perhaps when it rolls around that we're recruiting kids who will be here beyond JJ's seventh year?

Seriously, it is way too early. Wait until Jones says he officially wants to retire. 5 years is a standard time period. They may say next year that they extend Jones one more year and he announces he wants to retire at the end of the 5 years. Then it might not be a bad idea if someone appropriate is on hand.

Are we really discussing who will replace June Jones on the day he signs an extension? Well the guy on the left is a great recruiter and would assure continuity. It's pretty early but Jeff Reinebold may get a serious look, but 5 years is an eternity. Beat Tulane!

At this point it is more likely he will be the head coach at hawaii!!! I think we'll cross that bridge when we get there! Besides, once we reach the highest levels of success we should be able to lure another JJ type HC if the money is still there!

this is an interesting one to debate. on one hand it is nice to know who is next. at this point you dont really need to name anyone, maybe as the contract draws to an end in the last two years.

on the other hand, if JJ takes the program to a TCU/Utah/Boise/BYU type level then there will be ALOT of people who want this job.

my bet is JJ has a lot to say about the whole thing, either before or as he walks away.

Let's hope that we can keep this staff together. They seem to work together well and get along well. In addition, I would love to see J. Glanville in this coaching group. Soon the Pony nation will dominate.
