Our program and recruiting will only get better. We might just WIN most of our out of conference games in 2011's tough schedule. I'm not going to put any limits on where our program might be in the future with JJ & Staff as Coaches !

This is great news and perhaps an indication JJ will stay until the job is done (meaning SMU playing in a BCS game). I have also looked at 2011 as the year we may finally be ready to play with anyone on the schedule, but very pleased that this team is ahead of schedule in 2009.

I am very thankful for the circle of champions. If not for them, we would have to look to replace our coach every 2-3 seasons much like Houston. I just finished reading an article that said that Coach Sumlin is one of the top 2 candidates to replace Kragthorpe at Louisville. This lack of continuity is going to kill their recruiting, preventing them from busting through the BCS. Remember they had a 4star qb that went with Briles to Baylor and have a 4star qb from Louisiana committed right now. For the sake of SMU and CUSA I hope he stays so we can add UH to our list of good wins in 2011!

Great news for SMU fans!
Congrates! SMU knows and is showing JJ the real love by going for the early extension.
I think JJ really appreciates it. It ain't all about the money when it comes to JJ.
Looks like SMU is making serious attempts to fill Ford stadium. That should keep JJ at SMU to build a winning program for many years to come.
Go Mustangs! Beat Tulane!

This is a huge shot in the arm to our recruiting efforts. Let's kick TCU's butt on the recruiting trail and take them to the matt every year. We have 20 years worth of alums out there who didn't factor a fun winning football tradition into their reasons for enrolling at SMU. Lets bring them into the fold. I guarantee a winning football program is an enrollment boost for any major University in the state of Texas. I also bet that giving will be way up this year.

TCU's success is a good thing and our challenge is to catch up with them. SMU needs to join TCU in playing at a level where we are beating our former SWC mates. Playing those teams will help generate sellout crowds at Ford. Looking forward to the day we pummel Texas Tech or A&M in front of an overflow crowd with SRO all over the south end zone grass

I remember a time when SMU hoops was top 10 caliber (under Dave Bliss) and playing Arkansas in a big game. I was a long time season ticket holder and had 2nd row seats behind the SMU bench (cost was only $7/game back then) and was offered $50 each by some Arkansas fans for my seats. Of course, my answer was no and I hoped in those days that opposing fans would not even be able to get into Moody. Let's just hope we see the day where demand is that high at Ford Stadium. Maybe a matchup with TCU with both teams coming in undefeated and ranked in top 10? Nice dream, huh??
