It is a really good day for SMU football. I believe that Jones inherited a program that was barely alive. Morale, attitude, talent level, the whole culture was at a low ebb. The football team struggled all year this year with many close wins that could have been losses and a few close losses that could have gone the other way. A straw in the wind which I hope is a sign of evolution in JJ's offensive scheme is that this team boasted the first 1000 yard rusher in Jone's career as a college head coach. Hopefully that trend will continue.

I believe Coach Jones has had 1000 yard rushers before.
