Remember that Div. 1-AA Team SMU Played...?

Postby MrMustang1965 » Sat Dec 05, 2009 12:26 pm

Stephen F. Austin State University is two games away from playing for the national championship in Div. 1 (FCS) (formerly Div. 1-AA). Yeah, Div. 1-AA has a playoff system. What a concept!

SMU handed the 'Jacks one of their two losses this year. The Lumberjacks play the University of Montana in Missoula today.

Ha that's pretty funny. I thought they were supposed to be pretty bad this year? Oh well I never thought I'd see the day when "one of their two losses was to SMU".

MT will likely crush them today, I hope they can go far. Given their record the last two years, I didn't expect them to be good this yr, and did not feel positive about our prospects for the season after our ugly win over them. But with Duke losing to U of R, and UVA losing to W&M, it's almost like we got off easy

tough road game, for sure...but I'm pulling for SFA all the way. Anything that makes me feel better about our season accomplishments. Most folks were pretty upset our game with them was so competitive...when most expected a 50 pt blowout

Look how close the fans are to the teams. Hardly any room for the teams to stand on the sidelines! And those mountains make the crowd noise ECHO like crazy!

1965, while you are correct about Montana being a tough environment to play football in, I believe ebrooks was talking about KnuckleStang's pool

SFA isn't doing so well. Losing 24-0 with 8:29 left in the 2nd. Already have 6 turnovers.
