UT/Bama Spread

Postby gostangs » Sun Dec 06, 2009 1:57 am

That Bama will kick thier butt is not in question - the only question is by how many points. Feel free to opine.

Your kneejerk reaction and extreme anti-Texas agenda are noted.

Thanks.

I really haven't seen Texas much this year, but if last night's game is any indication, I agree Texas will get mauled. Hopefully that was a bad game for Texas, but they appeared to have no running game and quite frankly were not very physical. Bama is the most physical group I've seen this year. That Nebraska front 4 was pretty stout...they ate up our boy Chris Hall.

I just hope the NC game is competitive. The SEC has dominated this thing for years

I have no such anti -horn agenda. In fact they would be my second favorite team in Texas (waaaaay back in second place).

I have seen two of their games in person this year - and was not impressed with their offense - Their defense - although certainly stout - is not enough to save them. Tech, OU and A&M - none of which are great teams - moved the ball on them fairly easily.

McCoy is a great athlete and a great person but not a great QB.

They are fortuante to be playing in the game - the schedule worked well for them this year - and Braford going out of Tx/OU early was real lucky.

"Hook em" - but keep the tissue handy. I'd guess the line will be about 6 - and then will move up to 8.

A whole lot can happen between now and the game. Ingram probably wins the Heisman and that thing is no good luck charm.

Texas will hear how they're going to get killed now for three weeks and rise up on a horse collar and win the national championship. And it will be a squirrelly unimaginable turn of events, as usual.

This talk of a double-digit Bama win will help Texas - and that's a d@mn shame. Nothing gets a bunch of prima donnas up for a game like being humiliated in the press. Hope I'm wrong but UT likely wins now.

Texas is very overrated. McCoy is a myth. Seeing him on his knees praying to God for a Texas win was both priceless and galling.

Texas problem last nite was its Offensive Line which had one of the most pathetic performances-EVER-both pass blocking and run blocking. If I was the Texas Offensive Line Coach I think I might be brushing up my resume with Alabama's Defense coming up. But Texas does have a chance to beat Alabama if the Offensive Line does not play like girls. Alabama has had plenty of inconsistent offensive performances themselves.

How many times was it brought up during the season that Alabama kept misfiring in the red zone and had to settle for FGs?

They will be favored and have the coaching edge with Satan. I think Greg Davis called a terrible game last night. Where were the short drops and elimination of slow developing plays. They did not adjust to that.

They need to trust Tre Newton more and establish him early. He's their RB. Didn't even attempt to do that until later. The OL needs to man. It's the unit that will determine if Texas brings home some hardware.

Make no mistake, Texas is not a bad team. If you think their offense is not potent based upon last night's showing, you need to go back and reevaluate Nebraska's defense. They played an awesome game last night. They're the only reason Nebraska was still in that game last night. UT's O and D seem to do just enough to win in many cases, such as last night and the OU game.

No way this line opens up with Texas as double-digit underdogs. Maybe +6.5 max.

I have a bias for Bama as my son starts there in the fall. This is the first year I have followed them. Texas has been my second favorite team in Texas. That being said, Bama by 2 TD's. Texas can't match them physically. If McCoy thinks the Huskers were tough just wait. Just glad Horny Toad High was denied

You're kidding yourself if you think Texas can play ANY LESS than their absolute best and still have a chance. Bama blew the [deleted] out of Florida in case you missed that.
