as for the brothers Pelini, I think it would be slightly irresponsible from a fiscal perspective, not to mention job performance perspective, to let them go.

I'm with you on this old friend, I have never seen a college fansite, where the home team and fans are pounded by the cheerleaders of "another team". Pretty queer, and disloyal to the fans of PONYFANS.COM

the only ones queer on this board are those that get upset because fans want to discuss current topics on college football. What a loser comment coming from a guy who never has an intelligent opinion about any topic

To take that a little further, I don't think either school is in a position to say which one is beyond reproach for behavior in the public eye. I hear Austin PD has a special window in the records room for "Longhorn Athletes"

RGV, while I agree with you re: human nature in the heat of battle and further agree with you re: UT's criminal record, Bo Pelini wanted to go after a fan in the stands. He wanted to be to the end of the season what LeGarrett Blount was to the beginning of the season. That's inexcusable for a player, and even more inexcusable for a coach, who is supposed to be setting an example for his players and, yes, the young kids who follow the program.

Oh, I'm not upset, I'm used to seeing the "cheerleading" of other teams on the SMU site. And I have SMU discussions on a daily basis, with other loyal Mustang folks. Usually face to face, or on the phone for me though. I'm still looking forward to actually seeing you on this road trip! I have had a number of others, that said they want to join us, when I buy you a beverage of your choice! This will be great, we're on an island!

I really believe that Pellini should be more upset at his kicking game for the kickoff that went out of bounds and gave Texas the ball at its 40 and then the stupid horsecollar flag for automatically giving Texas a chance.

Simply, Nebraska didn't finish it.

That's crap. When Osborne was there, those papers were schills for him.

Since you have such extensive knowledge of what was reported in "those papers" before any of them were available on the internet, I assume that means you were a subscriber. Thank you for contributing to my inheritance.

wow husker you have completely lost your mind. There were plenty of Texas reporters who brought down the SWC with reports of cheating. I don't think anyone could accuse the DMN and WFAA of being sycophants. That included reports leading to probation for Texas along with many others.

Congratulations on your ancestors doing well enough to own a newspaper, but the idea that Nebraska media was diligent in covering Nebraska football is the most idiotic thing I've ever read on this board, and there is plenty of competition. Tom Osborne did no wrong in the eyes of Nebraskans. The garbage that went on under everyone's nose is legendary; where were your reporters then?

Anyone paying attention knows what happened. After getting his tail kicked and repeatedly blowing the big one, Osborne relented and took anyone he thought could help him win. Murderers, girlfriend beaters, everyone was welcome, including woefully inadequate students who miraculously qualified once they got to Nebraska. Texas killed those "qualifiers" with the Big 12 and Nebraska is no longer an elite program as a result.

And then there is the steroid issue. Rampant use by the players. How long did it take whatever your family's paper is to blow the lid off of that one? 10 years maybe? Give your dad or grandfather a pat on the back for me. :lol:

Glad to do it. I wouldn't put this on there if I hadn't been around it. I don't put stuff on this board that is made up. I know what I saw and what I know.

Great post! You right on as Husker is full of s%^t, as we all knew what happened during the 80's recruiting days with Nebraska recruits as it was all swept under the rug just like in Oklahoma.

A++

I remember reading sports agent Mike Trope's book Necessary Roughness . Trope represented Johnny Rodgers. He also had some extremely unflattering words about the hypocrite also known as Tom Osborne.
