I don't presume to speak for BR, but I'm guessing Pellini has a right to be upset because the team he coaches went toe to toe with one of the two best teams in America and did everything right to win, but didnt seize opportunities when it had the chance. And because in the last minute and a half of the game, he saw the most golden of opportunities vanish.

That's right. I'm not blaming Nebraska's loss on the refs. Nebraska should have done more to not allow a few questionable calls to prevent them from winning. But that last minute was frustrating. You just knew there would be some type of interference...

look at Mack's face on the replay. He appeared to just know too...

Wish they would talk about the other bowl games. Instead, nothing other than the BSC or a few other games.

Nebraska lost without the officials' help.

Gotta pull for Bama as I can't stand the Horns winning.

BR, remember the interference call they got against Kansas in 2004. Funny how they always get that call.

And, did you wear that T-Shirt to any of the SMU games when we played Texas in the SWC post-DP? Did you attend any SMU/UT games post-DP? I did. Not too pleasant.

so glad to see you say that.

As a kid growing up watching the Mustangs, Texas was to MY team as the Patriots have been to MY NFL team (the Colts). 25 years from now, I'll still dislike the Patriots. I don't see how it's so easy for people who were SMU fans/students/alumni/whatever in the 80s to pull for the Longhorns.

Just my take.

Son, I grew up a Texas fan before I ever attended SMU. I remember being fired up when Herkie Walls caught the game-winning TD pass against Alabama in 1982 Cotton Bowl. I got sick on the muffed punt in the 1983 Cotton Bowl against Georgia. I remember the 1981 which was No. 1 and then went to Arkansas and got smoked 42-11.

And I was pretty excited watching Texas 15, SMU 12 on CBS when that game was game was at Texas Stadium. At the time, I really had no connection to SMU until I visited the campus in the summer of 1985.

I followed that team when Robert Brewer was the QB and he broke his thumb before the Sun Bowl against North Carolina and then they lost that game. And then the 1984 Freedom Bowl when Chuck Long and Iowa hammered them 55-17 to signal the beginning of the end of the Fred Akers era.

I was pretty fired up when Tony Jones caught the game-winning touchdown against Arkansas in Little Rock in 1987 as time expired and then when he caught that 78-yard bomb from Brett Stafford in the 1987 Bluebonnet Bowl against Pittsburgh. I was their fan when they went 4-7 and when the David McWilliams era was a disaster and when John Mackovic wasn't any better. Well, but Roll Left was pretty sweet.

When I was at SMU from 87-91, I went to as many SMU-Texas football and basketball games as possible.

But make no mistake, when the Mustangs and Longhorns got together, I always pulled for SMU and still do. I went to Austin for Texas 52, SMU 3 and I was pretty fired up when the 1992-93 men's basketball team swept them to help them win the 1992-93 SWC regular season title.

Admittedly, it was odd for me to suddenly pull for SMU against Texas but I am taking more joy that we are in a bowl than Texas is playing for the NC.

However, I was born in a year when Texas won the National Championship.

But SMU always comes before Texas. In fact, so does Minnesota.

I hope that answers your question.

When I was 10. And it was actually a burnt orange winter jacket. I thought it was pretty cool.
