Segregation Bowlpretty good line by a TCU Fan who is billing the Fiesta Bowl as the 'Segregation Bowl" because TCU and BSU are "Separate but Equal". Plessey v. Ferguson, 163 U.S. 537 (1896)

Re: Segregation BowlThe BCS definitely did a good job segregating those two schools from the BCS school's bowl games.

Re: Segregation BowlI think it is good that two top ranked undefeated teams are meeting. The problem is at a minimum it should be Ciny and TCU. The BSC found a way to protect its Precious.
Re: Segregation BowlYeah, I do hate TCU, but this is pretty shameful. Why not TCU/Florida? Is it subjective or do they have some formula for it? I don't know. I'm asking. Stallion?

Re: Segregation Bowlthe guy who made the joke didn't even cite the case, but with my legal expertise and acumen I decided to put into a legal framework that even a kid lawyer like you might get. Hence Wikipedia for your benefit

Re: Segregation Bowl
The BCS did it so they don't run the risk of TCU and/or Boise beating a BCS school. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Segregation Bowl
I mean really..... the #1 is against the #2...why shouldn't it be #3 VS #4? Makes too much sense I guess....and Boise State beat Oklahoma in a BCS game and that game is still mentioned as one of the top sports stories and bowl games in the last decade. It creates interest in CF and that's not a bad thing. Last edited by ponyscott on Sun Dec 06, 2009 10:19 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Segregation Bowl
No, I know that's what it appears, but is there some type of formula that the BCS can hang their hat on? I suppose that if there isn't right now, they'll make one up when the questions start mounting. Geaux MUSTANGS! Geaux Tigers!

Wikipedia is about as good a source of accurate information as Britannica, the venerable standard-bearer of facts about the world around us, according to a study published this week in the journal Nature. Go Frogs! Pony Up!
Re: Segregation Bowl
No they didn't. Boise beat OU a few years ago...irrelevant
Re: Segregation BowlNo real formula just the bowl reps choosing who they want if the team does not automatically go to that bowl. It is not just what it appears that is really what happened.
