Re: 2011In 2011 we have a shot at Top 25. By that point we will have experienced players at nearly every position and another two recruiting classes that will hopefully build on the success we are already seeing.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: 2011In my opinion, the only shot we have at Top 25 next year is to pound the Sand Aggies and beat the Toads. If we can do that, I believe we'll be Top 25 without a doubt. But I don't see that happening right now. Any given Saturday and all that, but TCU has a lot of returning Jrs, and have had great recruiting classes the past few years. If we lose to TCU, we'll have to run the table for a while. I don't think a 2 loss C-USA team is going to get many votes.
2011 though, will be a decent year. The line will be made up of upperclassmen unless underclassmen beat them out, which shouldn't be a bad thing, given how this line has been progressing. Padron will be a Junior with a year and a half in the system as well as 2 full springs. If Fields Pans out as well as projected, and the young WRs are as adversized (too bad the Truth was sidelined so much this season), the offense will be in good hands. The Defense is a bit more of a mystery, but considering the improvement that the coaching staff made this season, I think there's reason for optimism. I put 2011 as the year we really push for the top 25. I think Sherm will have the Aggies playing well, so getting over them AT the Cultist Compound will be tough. But even a loss in the first week won't be the end of the world, as we'll have pleanty of time to win out for a while. This all hinges on beating TCU, which I'm hoping will be in a slight regression in 2011 with the loss of Dalton and a host of OL starters as well as their entire current Defensive line. -CoS
Re: 2011The next goal is a CUSA championship. Do that and then move on to then next thing.

Re: 2011
Nope. We need, we want, and deserve a national champianship. It has been so long, so hard, the guy's/girls that went to SMU, then the fans, I think we will get the NC, before I die. Some or many would question what I said, CSA is nice. I do not think SMU will simply say that CUSA is good enough. SMU is not going the TCU route. SMU has always put all the chips on the table.
