See if Patterson would change TCU's mascot, they would get more respect!

Good Lord, what a bunch of conspiracy theorists. Kirk Herbstreit said it best, the BCS is about matching #1 & #2 and that's it. It's not about getting the best matchups in the rest of the big bowl games.

Sure, I would have preferred that TCU & Boise play someone else, but does anyone know exactly what the order was in which each of the other bowl games got to pick the "at large" bids? I have no idea, but what if either this is the matchup the Fiesta Bowl wanted (picking first), or the one they got stuck with (picking last)?

Rose - Big 10, Pac 10
Sugar - both at large
Fiesta - Big 12, at large (maybe they picked TCU to replace a Big 12 team because of regional preference?)
Orange - ACC, at large

So what's the order, geniuses?

The order this year was Orange, Fiesta, Sugar--but the bowls that lose their tie-ins get to pick their replacements first in order of ranking. So it was Sugar, Fiesta, Orange, Fiesta, Sugar.

The Fiesta Folks had their choice of Iowa, TCU, Boise, Iowa, Penn State and Cincy. I guess they figured that they would get more fans from Boise than from Iowa, PSU or Cincy.

Kirk Herbstreit is pro BCS. He was given his talking points. It was rigged and they all colluded. The only reason Texas is going is because they are Texas.

It is both funny and ironic how TCU and people in Texas look down on Boise State just like their part of the country looks down on TCU when looking at comments how both programs wish they were playing big-time programs. They are both in the same boat. Both are great teams, especially for the money invested compared to other programs. Can you imagine the problem if Boise would have played Iowa and beaten them(probable) in the Fiesta and TCU would have beaten Florida or GT in one of the other bowls. I think this factored into pitting BSU and TCU against each other. TCU and BSU victories would have hastened the breakup of the big-money sham monopoly that is the BCS.

TCU is almost in a no win situation. If they win by 3 or 43 they are suppose to win let alone if they lose,

the cartel would have us believe these will be the "best matchups" for fan interest. Put me down as one who would have preferred watching TCU play Florida and Boise play Cincy

I don't think I'm in the minority...but how tragic would it be if the SEC runner up was beaten two years in a row by the lowly MWC champion?

Boise vs. Cincy would have been fun.

The o/u on that one would have been about 100. :-)

Love SMU and small conference football, but TCU has 3 losses if they play in a crappy league like the ACC, much less the SEC. They get what they deserve, a showcase vs another program of limited national interest, that is on their level.

3 losses...really...how do you come up with that? What would their schedule be like? When is the bye week? Which games are home and away? OCC schedule? Didn't the Marshall guys say they would only have 3 losses in CUSA West? How can that silly statement be anything other than complete random guessing. TCU and Boise are on the same level? Are you saying they are not on par with Florida? There is only one way to find out for sure. Let them play each other. Unfortunately, that is one question the BCS was afraid to find the answer to.

TCU beat the ACC runner up at Clemson. TCU also destroyed BYU who beat Oklahoma and Destroyed UTAH who barely lost at the end at Oregon who was the Pac-10 champ. They could have beaten both those teams even worse had they wanted. Just saying i think they would be 12-0 or 11-1 this year in the ACC. THey are the best team in the country in my opinion.
