You would be very surpised at how good most of the big 10 schools are academically...

However I think Pitt, ND, and Mizzo are the only schools they would look at.

yes but Arkansas isn't in the running for the top flight Texas players anymore which they used to get. Of course, Ryab Mallett transfer from Michigan via Texarkana is an exception. For example Arkansas has on;y 1 commitment from a Texas Top 30 (No. 18 Knile Davis) in the last 6 years.

If they want to stop getting skipped over in the last week of the season when their teams are idle, they need to add a 12th team so they can have a title game (this along with the bye week will be helpful). They should pursue ND, who will likely turn them down, and then go after one of the schools you guys have already mentioned.

They need to stop using that excuse. They CHOOSE not to play the last 2 weeks of the season. The WAC, Big East, Sun Belt play games during the championship week.

Wow, we didn't even get through the bowl season, before the realignment threads start popping up. Okay here goes my annual realignment merry-go-round. Big Ten is eyeing Missouri since ND won't jump into bed with them. If Missouri says "no", then they go for Pitt or Syracuse as the default. My money would be on Syracuse because of academics. If Missouri bolts, that creates an opening in the Big XII which will invite Arkansas. If Arky says, "yes" that creates an SEC vacancy which goes to either Georgia Tech, Miami or Florida State. That creates an openning in the ACC which goes to Syracuse (their original target four years ago before VT pushed itself in) which creates an opening in the Big East which goes to Villanova (an internal promotion like U Conn - although East Carolina, UCF and Marshall will all be shaking their rears for that one). If Mizzou says no, then you have the Big East raid by the Big Ten which goes to either Pitt or Syracuse. At that point I think again they promote Villanova with the same characters shaking their rears. In the Missouri "yes" scenario, If Arky says "no", then I see the Big XII looking west (not south) at UNM, Utah or BYU, although TCU is as sexy as its gonna get and might get a hard look. If there is a BE raid, and a CUSA team is taken, I see Louisiana Tech being offered pretty quickly by CUSA unless the Eastern Schools are really clamoring for a more eastern school. In that case, Florida International would probably get a look as would Middle Tennessee State. As we all know a kitten dies every time a realignment thread is started, so lets keep these to a minimum. Who wants to kill a defenseless cuddly little kitten.

Every once in awhile I have to come out of the woodwork to set all the realignment nonsense straight...last time there was someone advocating Southern Miss to the SEC. Good to see things are a little more sane this time.

-As long as NBC will be their sugar daddy, Notre Dame isn't joining a conference where they have to split bowl/TV revenues, and it doesn't make sense for the B10 to add them and let them keep all of their TV $$$, so that's not happening anytime in the near future. Simple as that.

-Big Ten will, as someone said earlier, target either Mizzou, Pitt, or Syracuse. I can't think of any other logical choices at this point. I don't know if PSU would let Pitt in, though, unless there's political pressure (see UVa-Va Tech). I don't see Nebraska splitting away from their original Big 8 buddies, but I suppose it's possible.

-Arkansas isn't leaving the SEC anytime soon for one reason and one reason only- I'll give you a hint: it starts with an M and it rhymes with honey. It wouldn't make sense for any of the SEC teams to bolt, and they're not going to add anyone else to dilute the pot. Same goes for the ACC at this point as well.

-Big East might make a move, whether it be reactionary in response to losing one of the two aforementioned schools or proactive towards adding 12 teams and a championship game. Regardless, they will probably target ECU, UCF, Memphis, or maybe the service academies on a FB-only basis. Maybe Temple might get another look if they can consistently win in subsequent seasons, but the BE would have to eat some crow on that one.

-If Missouri were to bolt for the B10, then I would think B12 would have to take a long and hard look at TCU, but it wouldn't really make sense with the geographical divisions. BYU and Utah would also get serious consideration.

This makes zero sense...more evidence that JoePa is senile. PSU's biggest in-state competitor for recruits is Pitt, and one of their biggest advantages over Pitt is their conference affiliation. Why would the Nittany Lions willingly give away their best hand in Pennsylvania recruiting to their cross-state rivals? Stupid, stupid, stupid. The PSU AD/Admin had to cringe when he said this. On a smaller scale, it's the same reason we didn't want UNT in C-USA...besides the whole academics thing.
