To bring reality to this board-why shouldn't the Coach of the team with the best winning percentage in the NCAA over the last 8-9 years be paid at the very top of the pay scale. Every seat has been sold during his tenure-the athletic department made 120 Million last year-20 Million more than the next closest team.
Whoa! This is a record for whiplash, knee-jerk UT defense. Way to go, big guy.
This isn't a UT fluff post - it's the damn truth. Did you even read the post? If June came out and got a BCS bid in 2 years would you oppose a raise?
What the ? ....... I'm just sayin' somebody called Mack Brown a clown and Stallion rode to the rescue. Geez.

1. The fans, who think they're entitled to some different status in the world 2. The vomit color of the uniform 3. The overrated wannabe city that is home to that school 4. The coach who won a national championship with his "give the ball to Superman and get out of the way" strategy, but other than that, has rarely (if ever) won a big game ... isn't he still stuck on one or two conference titles, despite fielding a team of future NFL talent ever year? Dude is hailed as a "great coach" despite doing less with more than a hell of a lot of coaches 5. Did I mention their elitist fans? 6. Their annoying (current) QB 7. Their idiot fans who think Vince Young was a good QB, rather than what he was: an otherworldly athlete 8. Their ugly-as-hell mascot The list goes on and on...

agree for the most part. Texas=the Carolina of college football. Say, where was Mack Brown before he was at UT?

I'm a UT fan. I feel no such entitlement. Many of my best friends are UT fans. They feel no such entitlement. EVERY school has it's annoying fans. Even our hallowed school. You're ignoring the fact that this is magnified for them because they have 5 times our enrollment annunally. I have a problem with the fans that have no association with the university. The guy on the street who wears burnt orange head-to-toe but never went to UT or even knew anyone who did. Those are the ones who usually yell the loudest. But you cannot honestly tell me that you don't believe there are any such fans of SMU either. VY was a good college QB in terms of the system he was playing in. They used him to the best of his abilities. I wish we had a QB as "annoying" as Colt McCoy. Having a Heisman finalist two years in a row would totally suck. I like their mascot. What can you possibly hold against a big longhorn bull? I agree that Austin is overrated. I'm indifferent on their colors, but you have to admit that it's recognizable. Regarding the coach, he's beat their biggest rival several years in a row after a little drought. One national championship is more than 99% of college coaches will ever sniff. I can guarantee you that people are saying the JJ is overrated and overpaid as well. We don't, but some haters will.

Reality:
Last weekend, Mack Brown was one second away from being run out of town on a rail...
Like A&M, TCU, Tech, OU and Baylor fans, SMU fans can't be fans of two schools, if you can't say anything bad about UT, then don't say anything at all...

2112,
I respect your love for the Stangs, but how about contributing something of value every once in awhile?

your [deleted] ghetto act is tiresome. Try to bring something to the table.
