It definitely crazy, but it might be one of those ideas that is so dumb it might work. The Big 10 could expand into Texas recruiting without having to risk losing the extra game on the schedule every year.

While we're in fantasy land, how about instead SEC expands to 14 and adds SMU to open the DFW market.

Which goes back to the post I made a few days ago...TCU would be the "sexier" Texas option right now for the Little 11. I bet they WILL be making this "outside the box" pitch, and actually stand a far better chance of getting in than SMU. In fact, I think TCU has a chance. SMU doesn't in a million years.

whatever the rest of the country does, I think SMU winds up with one of two realities, assuming anything happens at all.
EITHER in the MWC w/ Boise St (hello again TCU) and some other CUSA refugees
OR still in the CUSA with La Tech and NTSU.
and that's it.

SMU will never allow NTSU as long as it is in CUSA.

Please not NTSU!!!!! That would be as devastating a blow to SMU's conference affiliation as being cast to the WAC 16. Do you remember the stinch that lingered all season 2 years ago when NTSU beat us? poo

I could see us getting into a stronger conference though with say SMU, TCU, UH, Tulsa, New Mexico, Air Force maybe forming the South Half with other MWC leftovers and Boise St. Schools like Rice and Tulane may be in jeopardy right now or may ending up in a Conference with the remaining CUSA East teams and Sun Belt.

MWC
Add Boise, Fresno, Houston, Nevada, SMU, and Tulsa
West: Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, and UNLV
East: Air Force, Houston, SMU, TCU, Tulsa, and Wyoming
Best Case scenerio, add MWC to auto bid....

I've heard Hawaii took 15-20,000 to the Sugar Bowl-don't think they have ever traveled to any other game well though. TCU just sold out their alottment of 17,000 and is getting 2,000 more.

If Tulane and Rice get stuck with CUSA east and Sun Belt leftovers it could be the end of their DI-A programs.
