IMO, that "Texas" school may be TCU. I hope they wouldn't think of that for our sakes.

Vanderbilt...

Why not move OU or OSU to Big12 North and take a texas school?

that would never happen. Texas will ALWAYS play OU and that is not possible if they are in the horrible north.

No NFL cities in the big 1+11. TCU doesn't fit. We heard Colorado State would prolly replace mizzery versus BYU or Utah. They hate each other but will never split up. They may be a package for the PAC 10.

Arkansas won't leave the SEC. I don't see anyone leaving the SEC. OU and OSU will stay in the same division.

That little thing called an in-state rivalry would prevent it. No way that anyone in Oklahoma would support the schools being in seperate divisions.

And recruiting. Texas is a mine of gold that one would not willingly lose.

Remember then that the DFW market is already under the ownership of the Big 12, and there is no reason to take TCU.

Good point. Plus, why give up this talent to another bcs-bs school - providing the Frogs were lucky enough to move up to the real Division 1. Keep'em down in the lower ranks of college football!!! Sorry but it is what it is - the minor division.

Yeah, Colo St would actually make a lot of sense. Keeps some rivalries in the north and frees up CSU and CU for other out of conference matchups.

The piggies want out of the SEC. Better exposure in Texas if they are in Big 12. Also fans can travel easier plus a big piggy alum base in Dallas. That is according to some Arkansas donors.

if Arkansas was dumb enough to leave the SEC, I could see where the SEC would take (gulp) TCU.

Whewwwwwwwwwwwwww - RGV!!!

You may have hit on something

Don't like it either. TCU may flourish there, too. They recruit alot like texas & other SEC teams. You never know.

I just can't see the SEC or any of the major conferences taking a private school, except Notre Dame.

I would hope that the big 12 would make an offer to TCU for selfish reasons. I live in Fort Worth and would like the ability to see Texas and A&M once a year like the old days of the SWC. Any move to be more like the original SWC would be preferred albeit unlikely to happen. Oklahoma State could move to the north and still play OU in football if the Big 12 changed the way it handled the divisional rivalries to make it more like the SEC. Each team in the SEC plays a nondivisional rival annually. For example, Georgia plays Auburn annually.

While the SEC might offer TCU, I still see them going after the U, FSU or GT. The only reason for them to go after TCU would be to add DFW to their market which would not be a bad move. I still don't see Arkansas moving to the Big XII too much money in the the SEC. The other thing that might happen is for the Big XII to admit TCU, but throw geography away. They could then go a number of ways. They could have the grown-ups division of UT, A&M, OU, Neb., TT, OSU and the little kids division of Baylor, TCU, CO, KU, ISU, KSU. You could even make it like the English Premier League where the best team from the lower division moves up every year or so and the worst team from the other division moves down. This would avoid putting a team like Baylor in the perpetual cellar. Or they could mix things up and put UT, OU, CO, ISU, OSU, Baylor in one division and A&M, KU, KSU, NU, TCU, TT in another division. Again, problems with this one as well. If they don't take TCU, I really think their choices are BYU, Utah or UNM. Colorado unless ordered to do so, would not want CSU under any circumstances. There is of course the blender scenario which is my dream scenario. The Big XII North and South decide that this is a perfect time to break up. And the free agents are SMU, TCU, Rice, UH, BYU, AFA, Utah, Tulane, Tulsa, Memphis and UNM.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

When it comes down to it, the QUICKER we can build a "competitive" program to TCU's, the better off we'll be. Right now, if something did happen & the Frogs were invited to a bcs-BS conference (over us), that would not bode well for us - PERIOD!!! Especially in our recruiting or anything else for that matter. That could put us back considerably. Hate to even think of it!!!
