I just watched the replay of the TCU/Tech game. Interesting game, Tech has some athletes. TCU is shoot or miss. I came away thinking, that if we could just put it together, we're really not that far away from being decent. There really isn't that much separating TCU, Tech and SMU.

Damn. First game of the tournament is against ranked UNLV on ESPN U. I hope we don't get embarrassed on national TV.

They are ranked 17, A&M is 18th. Granted we were playing at home but didn't get killed by A&M exactly. We'll lose by 15 or so.

UNLV was scorched by Kstate this weekend, and looked like a shell of the team I saw vs Louisville. Speaking of which, the Ville lost to a no name Carolina cupcake this weekend. Also, another of Vegas' good wins was vs Zona on the road. Seemed great until SDSU blew the doors of UA.

I'm not saying we'll beat UNLV, not even implying it, but it looks closer on a neutral floor, then it did a week ago. Also, they have no bigs. They are built just like us, just better players

Its great to see us playing in a quality tournament on national TV.
Hopefully the kids will play relaxed & have some fun. Hopefully Doh will take his HBP medication
& back off the kids.
My concern is 0 road wins last year & 1 the year before.
Better take care of Accidental before the tournament. Don't want to go on ESPN & have the announcers talking about that L.
I'm going to be optimistic & predict a 1-3 road trip. 2-2 would be considered a huge success imo.

Love the optimistic prediction 1-3; however, 0-4 is probably the bottom line.

You don't think SMU can beat a D-III school? If the program has fallen that far, then the problems are far greater than just Doherty.

gotta go 2-2 at worst. No reason to be scared vs anyone in Hawaii

UNLV will be a tough opener in the tourney. Just hope we compete. I'd like to see at least 2-2 on this trip.

I know they've been a quality team in the past, but you do remember that the team basically blew up this past spring, dont you? OJ Mayo scandal. Coach resigned, recruits backed out, most of their starters graduated or turned pro early? This is their year at the bottom, they even lost to Loyola-Marymount, a team that went 3-28 last year, and isnt looking much better this year. Our old buddy Jared Dubois had 17 on them.

They lost to Texas by 19.

So, what then is a quality team? If they finish near the bottom of the Pac-10, with a losing record, will that be a "quality" team? They're 2-4 now, with games against UNLV and Tennessee coming up, and the whole Pac-10 schedule. They'll be fortunate to win 10 games.

In beating Tenn, Lewis 21 points. Stepheson 19 points and 15 boards, Vuchevic (sp?) 15 points and 10 rebounds. This PG transfer Garritty also had a double double in his first game eligible this year.

And Texas beat UNC by 13 on a nuetral-ish floor compared to beating USC by only 19.

Like I said, I think USC is a quality team. If they can run Tennessee right out of the gym then I will not be surprised at all by any of their eventual Pac 10 wins.

I Really am not sold on USC. I think Tennessee just played an awful game. Both LA schools should finish around 5th or 6th in the Pac 10, but neither will pose any real threat in March. While the Pac 10 was certainly the best conference in basketball the last few year, I think the best teams coming out of the Pac 10 this year will barely make it past 2 or 3 rounds. Just my opinion.

Hold on, when has the Pac-10 been anything better then the 3rd best conference again?
