Doh has a massive job trying to get this team together in time for conference play. Obviously, UNLV is going to make most teams look bad; however, most of those of us on this board are just looking for signs of anything that would make this program look like they are capable of doing anything correctly. Right now it is all a jumble and the prospects for the future are not bright with this chemistry of players and coaches.

That's one reason I really like the '10 class. They are all multi-skilled, can shoot, and play fairly smart. It's like they are cut from a different cloth. Unfortunately, the more I watch this team, I realize we need more then a 3 person class, which means a few kids need to hit the road. Vicious cycle

I will accept you positive outlook for the class of '10. Question is whether or not this coaching staff has the capability to properly use those talents and create a viable team. I opine that Doh is lacking those personal qualities to inspire, instill confidence, properly utilize/exploit available talent, command respect in his coaching decisions.....etc. for success. All of those UNC issues that caused him to lose the those players and cause him to be fired. Doh will be back next year so we will see if the class of "10 can break through and over come the obstacles. I personally think he is lacking those personal skills to overcome the myriad of issues.

That's all well and good, but I'd be content just to see some structure on O. We need better, smarter players, that rely more on skill and less on athleticism. At this point, I don't even know what Doh is trying to run. It's easy to say we have no true PG, and no face up bigs, so how is this O going to work, but they recruited these kids. Show me system or show me ballers. Any combo of the two would be a perfect world, but what we're watching looks and feels aimless

Is this a coaching issue and/or are these kids not interested in team play and just resort back to street play or what they have done prior to SMU.

Just pathetic. We actually out-played them in the 2nd Half. If we could have had even a half [deleted] 1st half, we could have made this a game. Not impressed by UNLV at all.

67-53 which looks closer than the actual game situation. Garbage time started very early for UNLV and they started to turn the ball over and allowed the Ponies to come back. Not too much positive out of this game other than the fact that the Ponies played quite hard at the end. Unfortunately, much work is required in every single phase of the game to start being competitive. Could be a long season.
