I doubt it was local media. Calvin Watkins doesn't have a vote, and Steve Richardson, the national hoops guy at the DMN, only comes to see the Ponies when they play a national team (i.e. Tech or Wake so far this year). I gather he like's to restrict his votes to the national "name" teams, making him something like a print version of [deleted] Vitale.

We're now 86 in the Sagarins. The WAC is now the 7th best conference according to those ratings, ahead of CUSA (9th). Amazingly, after the 5 teams leave CUSA and the other five are added, the conference overall rating only drops from 9th to 10th and if TCU leaves, it actually retains its 9th spot. Boy, the Frogs really drag down that rating.
