The week ahead

Postby papawasamustang » Sat Dec 26, 2009 1:21 pm

We enter this week with a 2-6 record vs. D1 teams & an overall record of 4-6.
We just returned from the Hawaii tournament going 0-3 against very avg. competition.
We are the lowest rated Sagarin rating in CUSA currently rated # 257 in the country.
Doh's winning % @ SMU is now 36%, with back to back last place finishes in CUSA.

On Wednesday we play Army ( 9-2) & next Saturday we travel to Texas St (3-8).

Some are saying if Doh loses one of these games he should be fired. Why wait?

I'm hoping there is a Monday press conference announcing the resignation or firing of Doh, naming either Lutz or Geary as interim. Although you hate to see anybody get fired, its whats best for the future of SMU men's basketball. Step up to the plate S.O. & do what needs to be done.
It won't be the first time a HC has been fired during the season & it won't be the last.
Its part of the business.

Would be a good idea as it looks like the team doesn't buy into his plan.....they should not be 2-6 against D-1 schools, even with the guys we have here now.

Unfortunately, I don't see us winning either of these.
I'd be surprised if this team wins more than the fball team. I'm thinking 8-10 games max. We show a few minutes of decent play but never a full game. Our 3 point shooting this year is horrible!
If Doh was smart, he would try something different b/c this crap isn't working - but I think he's too stubborn to do that.

lose to either Army or Texas St and make Lutz the interim.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones
