predictions:
1). James will not announce that game

2). Leach will not stay as coach - they are alrady pissed at him and this will be reason enough to fire him.

3) his son will leave Tech

JJ will not go to Lubbock - they just arent his kind out there. We should call some of their recruits pronto

Don't mess with Craig James. He might be a senator one day.

Wonder if he is giving ESPN the inside scoop on what happened. At halftime of the Aggie-Georgia game the studio talking head said that there was a report from some ESPN reporter about what happened to Craig's kid. I didn't catch the reporter's name.

Here's a question, though. Does TT have a policy that if there is a charge of whatever this would be, that the coach/professor/administrator is automatically suspended from all university-related activities pending an investigation? Or did TT conduct an investigation and then suspend Leach? I know the statement from the university is that the situation is under investigation, but I didn't know if that was PR speak.

How did we not see this coming? This is all a part of a faithful SMU alum trying to destroy a rival. I bet he's been planning this for years! First he has a son. Then he gets that son into a rival school, in this case Tech. Finally, once that son has been firmly entrenched in the enemy school, he activates the poison pill and takes out the only school that can compete with our style of offense. All the while he belittles SMU as to not raise suspicion.

Well played Craig, well played. Didn't think you had it in you.

If I was a Baylor fan I would be nervous about Coach Briles being grabbed.

my TT friends are all over CJ on the issue. I'm having to exercise great restraint to comments such as:

I think it's safe to say that the James family leads the nation program destruction.

and

Funny that Craig James takes the moral high ground after he helped destroy SMU's football program in the early 80's...what a hypocrite.

Someone correct me, but I was under the impression that as far as CJ went, SMU lucked out b/c Marilyn was already there, and CJ followed her, as opposed to following Sherwood

ESPN took James off the telecast today.

ESPN analyst Craig James has been taken off the network's Alamo Bowl telecast after allegations that his son was mistreated by Texas Tech coach Mike Leach.

Seiously, it that deserved? Just because we don't offer him a scholarship, so he elects to go to a school that does. Even if a Tech education is barely worth $50, at $20k a semester at SNU, the James family saved $160,050 by accepting he TTech scholarship. That's a lot of money to swallow just for loyalty's sake.

Didn't know Southern Nazarene cost that much, but if the marketplace is willing to pay it, more power to 'em

I just read Craig James’s book ‘Game Day: A Rollicking Journey to the Heart of College Football’
His girlfriend, now wife's sister first went to SMU, his girlfriend then enrolled, then he followed his girl friend the next year. He married her and they have 4 kids.
He pretty much says in the book he did not accept money, cars and other high price payouts to attend SMU. Says he was offered a lot of stuff to attend other colleges but attended SMU to be with his girlfriend.

Isn't Leach a lawyer by trade who happens to coach football?

I don't think Jones would want Craig James son at SMU. James dissed UH and Colt Brennan for three years-system quarterback, a gimmick system playing in a weak conference, an over rated fb team not deserving of a BCS game.

But then again he can let him on the team and never play him. lol.
