Plus, he has all of those unstated reasons/goals for coming here that he won't disclose publicly; guessing those will keep him around until we find out what they are.
Hopefully it is to get us to a BCS bowl and a BCS conference!

Haven't read any of this, but stop worrying. I can't/won't say more than this - June has a plan for us, for his time here.... and he hasn't shared with me or any other media outlet the final goal. He's not leaving until he hits that goal (or maybe then not at all). So calm it down.

June is unique, to try to understand him isn't any more difficult to understand your wife or husband, which I personally have found to be impossible. He is very spiritual, yet he is also very private about it. If you read the book about the UH football program, it does give you some idea about the man and his beliefs and methods. For those of you who haven't been to practice, go when they are open. It is the quitest, most positive practice environment I have ever seen. The is no yelling or shouting or belittling by the staff. It is all a very positive coaching and teaching situation. Players pay attention. There is very little horseplay. The players are having fun, but it is all business. I wish I would have learned some of his techniques and leadership skills when raising my children. June does have a plan, a personal goal, I can only guess what it is. Hopefully to join the ranks of USC, ND and Miami, but doing it the right way. I have also observed that it doesn't stop with his goals for the football program, but also the university--in terms of school particpation and a re-awaking of the things we used to call pride and spirit. One day you won't see a UT ball cap, or Georgia sweatshirt on campus, it will be strictly SMU. He is way ahead of any coach that I have observed in terms of an overall plan for success. Why he chose us? probably because we were seen as the biggest challenge, a legacy project. Don't try to figure him out, just be thankfull he chose us!

Well it has to be a 'grand' plan for us, whatever it may be. Let's speculate! I say it's inclusion in a BCS conference when re-alignment hits college football the next go around. Or it could be making SMU the first non-BCS school to play in the BCS National Championship. Just playing in a BCS game doesn't seem lofty enough...of course I'd be wildly ecstatic with it anyway.

JJ specifically sought out a school like SMU. This will look and feel like a TCU or Boise St.
A young talent can get on the field as a freshman or sophmore.
None of the shenanigans like the Big 12 ADs pull. Both Kansas and TT had recently renegotiated the contracts and wanted out. Otherwise, none of this would have been made public. Look for both programs to compete for bottom slot. After a year at the helm at UT, there were calls for Mak Browns dismissal.
The Hawaii Bowl was great.

JJ is not going anywhere so forget this. He has a great job at SMU and is making plenty of money. The only problem SMU has now is a weak marketing staff that needs to do a better job of selling tickets.

I think if I were TCU, I'd be much more worried. Tech is the kind of Big XII opening that might appeal to Patterson. Its in Texas.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
