Adam James barely got Texas Tech's last scholarship-nobody else really wanted him-he was a greyshirt nobody expected to get on the field. Answer this one question-if Adam James had no talent, was lazy, had poor work habits, and was a problem in the lockerroom how the hell did he get on the field so early in his career and get significant playing time throughout his career. IN FACT, ADAM JAMES HAS BEEN AN OVERACHIEVER-with admittedly limited talent.
To me the character assassination is non-credible for this reason.
I agree

I remember a football lifer saying once that the only thing players can stand to earn from the game of football that's actually worth anything is respect.
Um people, can we all realize how terrible of a decision it would be to allow this entitled brat into the program at a time when he, nor his squirrely father, are not needed. I wasn't around to watch Craig play, but I'm from the school of thought that if someone speaks poorly about you in front of others, you don't create a warm environment for them. That's blindly catering, for what, a hokie ESPN guy that fails to resonate with a worthy audience? Please

SMU is full of entitled brats. I just don't see the need to drag the son of one of SMU's legacies through any more crap than he's already been. Honestly I don't see him fitting into JJ's offense...if JWill was too slow, I'm sure AJ would be too. I don't think he would try to play at SMU.

I am just telling what I have been told. I think if the stories are true about the dad, that is where my concern lies. I will say this about Leach, he is so smart he is dumb. Leach is the best thing that has ever happened to the Tech football program and could write his own ticket, but he keeps doing things that you just have to wonder what in the world is he thinking? Leach says he does not care about a lot of things, and his actions many times make you think he does not care. I was a little surprised Tech moved so quickly in suspending Leach. PONY UP!!!
GO MUSTANGS!

I'm on the fense on this one. As a walk-on, I don't see the harm that can be done. JJ doesn't put people in sheds, he takes them out of games and he doesn't care if you're the leading receiver in team history, or a freshman making an impact. JJ doesn't scream and yell or talk about your fat girlfriend, because he doesn't have to. It's his show and you either watch it, or you find something else to do with your time. So, if AJ can show during a walk-on year that he'll watch the show and toe the line, great.
We hope/want/expect legacy kids to give SMU preferential treatment. Sometimes it goes the other way. You give AJ the rope with which he can either pull himself up or hang himself, and use the political good-will later on the recruiting trail.

This question(would you welcome AJ) is largely irrelevant, as the question at this moment is what is the status of James/Leach at Tech. My thought is that both are gone when this is finally sorted out.
IF this action by a trainer(s) v. James happened as reported, and IF Leach gave approval, then we may be watching the implosion of Tech's program in the short term, and a real firestorm by Tech faithful in the long stretch. Get your popcorn ready.
That said, Adam the 'jerk' or not, if my son was 'motivated' in a like manner following a verified concussion there would most certainly be a 'come to Jesus meeting'...first with my son, and then with coaches/trainers/AD et al. Interesting to me is that the timeline suggests that Craig and his wife knew about the alleged 'first incident', and appeared to sit on it, and then reacted after what is perported to be the 'second'. Wonder why unless they gave the benefit of the doubt to Tech coaches...
Regardless, my reaction is one of sadness for the James family that this happened, and great joy that I have(will have) nothing to do with Sand Aggie U.

RGV pony, SMU's student body may be "entitled brats" but that's a tad different for the large majority on scholarship, academic or athletic, on campus.
If June needed big bodies to make his offense go, he'd have access to Taylor Thompson, Margus Hunt or Pat Fleming already. That or he'd recruit and develop one

RGV - you're right about the "brats" but what college isn't? Come to West Coast & look at SC, UCLA, & even Stanford, & countless others. People that always have SMU in the cross-hairs hadn't seen anything until you get out of Dallas & go to either the left or right coast. And TC-whooo is no exception!
It's everywhere! Entitled or not, you still have to pass or fail.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

He'd be a redshirt senior, if he came here. I would say, no scholarship, but if he wants to walk on, he's welcome. But no guarantees on playing time. We don't have baseball, but apparently he quit baseball at Tech. If I were him, I'd go to some school that had baseball and try and get back into that sport.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

NO WAY!!!
Coach Jones has preached buying into the system and playing as a family. Maybe all of the emails and statements by James' teammates are BS, but it sure seems that the evidence has mounted against him.
Sorry Craig...you said he didnt want your son playing at SMU years ago....so why now?
