Stallion seems to the think SMU/TECH game will likely be cancelled.

If so, that sounds great. The 2010 schedule needs to be a bit lighter.

and what would be their buyout to get rid of us? ....although, I guess they did just save $800,000 this morning.

Based on the negativity toward SMU this incident is creating on the Tech boards, I think any SMU fan going to that game should be required to wear SMU21TCU10's helmut before entering the stadium. I'm serious-game might get cancelled. Whether Leach stays or goes-a big target has now been placed on SMU

So now the James family has screwed the two football programs? Good track record. How many more kids does he have?

I know I'll get dog piled here but I think Craig James is a DB. And anyone who has played organized sports has played with a guy who is "reportedly" like his son. Lazy, disrespectful, entitled and a cancer. From the emails released by CBSSportsline http://dennis-dodd.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270202/19238949, it sounds like Leach was THE ONLY guy who wanted Adam James there. And now AJ got him fired.

Pretty screwed up if you ask me.

Maybe he can transfer to UT and take a crack at them.

You think those Leach apologists don't have an agenda? The guy punished a player for having a concussion, he should be fired for stupidity if nothing else.

Cancel game? Screw that! They will be in disarray! Now is the BEST possible time to play them and get a win.

Go to the game. Don't wear SMU gear, just go in stealth and be safe.

Send the band. It can't be more dangerous than SWC days. I think they are majority girls now, but 80 people with big pieces of metal aught to be able to take care of themselves.

Watching their rage if we beat them and run up the score, while they have to listen to Peruna..... beautiful. Just beautiful.

I am not here to defend Craig James, but:

1: I don't recall his name being involved in the death penalty case. The DP arose, as I remember it, because Clements was paying off players in 84 and 85 after we had been on probation for events prior to 1981.

2: If Leach thought AJ was able to practice he should have made him practice. Obvisously Leach had doubts about AJ's fitness to play. By placing him in isolation he was humiliating the kid and sending a message to the team that they should keep quiet about injuries or face the same fate. Any parent, fan or anyone who cares about the health of these kids should be appalled.

I don't blame CJ for this at all, like the folks at TT and some here are. Any of us would do the same if our son was being treated like Adam was. I don't know the whole story, and neither do any of us, but I don't think the James' would have done this without a very good reason.

Go read those emails from coaches and players. I also recall reading that AJ had been cleared to play by the doctor and was at practice exhibiting the behavior that he had since he got there: laziness, faking injury, and disrespect towards coaches and staff.

I'm sorry, I have played with guys like this and when a coach has 100 other guys putting all on the line and one kid being a cancer, the coach cannot win. Leach might be weird and crazy, but he is not stupid. I have a kid on my girls' soccer team like this and it poisons every game and practice. Leach's only mistake might have been just getting rid of the kid. But it sounds like HE was the only one who didn't dislike the kid.

given the content of this post, and in deference to its author, i think it appropriate to say...

amen.

p.s. planned or not, the most effective of CJ's remarks in his interview (on me) were: I'm a DAD.
