Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire LeachStallion,
I am with you James and his son. There is much more to this than just the James'. Leach and his attorney made things worse. How anyone other than a TTech drone could side with Leach is beyond me. The guy may have some psychological issues. An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and
doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire LeachI don't know if Leach has psychological problems but for sure his arrogance makes him believe he is above the school administration. I would not hire him for a head coach unless I was willing to let him do as he pleases regardless of consequences and I do not believe any major program will accept that risk. His best chance will be to become an offensive coordinator at a pro team. This is what he is most fit for and he would be good at it.
Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire Leach
I agree. He sits out a year or two, but what job will be open? Coaches on the hot seat at Michigan and Colorado, but neither school will invite that trouble right now. Maybe Washington St. or UTEP.

That could be said about someone who just led the ponies to victory in Hawaii. Excellence is not an act but a habit. Aristotle

He wins at a clip that has not been the norm in Lubbock in their history. He graduates more players than almost any other D-1 school in the nation(of course it is Tech, but still). While his methods may be unorthodox, the results are atypical in a good way. Someone will want him, I promise.
Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire LeachHas anyone ever listened to Leach talk? Anybody that thinks he will be on TV is nuts.
Leach will get his chance to coach again in a year or two. I have no doubt. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Very cool.

Maybe those 5 had fat little girlfriends.
Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire Leach
What you meant to say is that he think he's above the myopic viewpoint of those around here afraid of change even if the change is good for wins/losses - believe me, he is. However, he doesn't feel he's above Orsini and Turner because they're higher in the chain of command and he respects them.
Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire Leachat least 10 players have spoken out for James as well as Coach Ruffin which seems to have cooled the angry tirades toward James-seems like most now understand this was a power struggle between power brokers and Leach

Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire Leach
Only the most uninformed would think any thing else. What happened to the James kid happens on every football teams in the country for one reason or another. If this had happened at Alabama, Texas or Florida the school admin. would have made sure it never saw the light of day. Leach has just learned do not push the powers that be. Re: TT Players coming out in support of decision to fire LeachSpoke to a guy in Lubbock that i do business with today. He is a TTU season ticket holder. Said he is disappointed, naturally, about this whole thing, but doesnt blame anyone but Leach for the fiasco. From his point of view, that the really vindictive talk is coming mostly from people who got on the Tech bandwagon because of Leach's success. Says Tech is treated like a local pro team by the townspeople who have no connection to the school, and that most of the real rabble rousers are not alums but are just ol' boys who like to get drunk on Saturdays, get rowdy at the games, and chase college girls afterwards.
We dont see a lot of these types at the SMU games, fortunately.

How do you know he doesn't feel "above" Orsini or Turner?
