This year, we were where we needed to be. Best for recruiting and the long term health of the program.
That does not mean I want to be in Hawaii every year. It means that Hawaii was the best place for us THIS year. Baby steps folks, baby steps.
We are not ready for a national championship. we are not ready for a BCS bowl, and this year, we did not deserve to be conference champions. Those are wonderful goals for future years.
But this year was a WILD success by absolutely any measure. Enjoy it. With a tougher schedule, next year, I'm not sure I would not be VERY pleased with an identical record. Exposure and recruiting lead to better talent on the field.
Better talent on the field lead to long term, year after year success.
Keep your eyes on the prize, folks. the prize is not a particular bowl game this year, or next, or even the year after that. The prize is a traditional winning program.
As much as I HATE to say it... the prize is to become what TCU is on the verge of becoming right now. A recognized, traditional, national power.
