The Raiders couldn't have won that game without Mike Leach calling plays, could they? I have a friend who is roommates with the cousin of the guy who performs as the costumed Raider Red. According to what has been related to me, Mike Leach was inside the Raider Red costume last night and was sending messages via BlueTooth to Cumbie who then passed it down to Riley.
I know this sounds a bit far fetched however think about TSO and think about the support and loyalty he has. Only time will tell ... maybe. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=188&f=1650&t=5393892

I watched the game and really got tired of Bob Davies' comments in support of Leach. Davies was a failure as a coach and totally showed his 'aggie stupidity' with his commentary. Tech played much better than I thought they would until you consider 14 of the MSU players were suspended and did not play. I suspect that we could beat either TT or TCU if 14 of their key players were not allowed to play.

And with those 14 players, MSU was 6-6 in the not so strong Big Ten. I would have expected a blow out for Tech - so the fact that was as close as it was gives me some hope for next year - though not much - Jones stadium is very tough place to open a season.
Their back up qb was really an accurate passer - not looking forward to seeing him for a full game.

Funny, I thought Leach was disguised as a lil fat cheerleader.

They are delusional. There has been soooo much talk that had it not been CJ son, this would never have happened. This is probably true. If the kid had come from a poor, middle class, or even upper middle class family, what would be going through a parents head? I'm sure there might be some hesitation, knowing you would be going up against a University and a very popular coach. You would probably feel for your son, but the risk would be huge. How many atty.s would even look at your case, knowing what they would be going up against? What would be the up front fees. For many, maybe most, they would tell the kid to try to work through it, free education, chance to move to the next level etc. I know it would put a family that does not have the means, name & power of CJ, through pure hell. I'm sure it put the James family through hell. But it had to be someone with means and power to bring this whole thing to light. So I give CJ and AJ a lot of credit, and praise for what they did.
On a side note. Remember Frank Kush, ASU, fired for hitting a player while on TV? He went on to lead a boot camp for Juv. delinquents (go figure). To make a long story shorter, abuse allegations began to surface, AZ stopped sending kids, several other out of state agencies stopped sending kids, then a kid died because the staff thought he was just slacking ( heard that some place). AFTER seeing a nurse, they forced him to continue the rigorous exercises. Turned out the kid had approx. a pint of fluid in one of his lungs (puss). It is too bad that the leach supporters don't see where this kind of stuff can lead. The place was shut down. The nurse was charged with a degree of murder, the other staff wre charged with, # 2 homicide, eventually the charges where dropped. No reason, but dropped. Oh well.

All the James family did was report the incident to the administration. Middle class family could have done the same thing. No lawyers were involved in that.

I do know that, and don't want to try to trivialise what you are saying. If I am Joe nobody, the simple act of reporting a coach at a major university would probably make a person think twice. CJ is a big enough personality to just do it, and knew it would not be shoved under the rug, nor would there be retaliation against his son, even he had to think twice. It's just the way the world works.

I just followed your link to the post. I think you seriously need to work on your sarcasm/BS detector. The guy posting that was clearly kidding.

I think because of what Leach did every year in trying to jump ship and look for other jobs all the time that the administration just got tired of it. If anyone would have reported that TTech would have done the same thing. The first time he was it happened Craig James did not say anything to TTech but it happened again and that when he brought it to their attention. I would have done the same thing.

I would then say to you, good job, you are a great dad. Not kidding. Just hope it would have an ending where the police don't have to be called in and family harassed.

To be honest I don't think James or anybody else would have expected Leach to be fired or for it to have gone public IMO. When the media got a hold of this thing it went wild.

Agree, I don't think CJ had any knowlege of what TT really wanted to do. I'm glad it went public though. I really hope it puts some thug type coaches on notice, either leave or change. We know they are out there. It's too bad it turned out to be such a mess for CJ and his family, but looks like it will turn out OK.
